Roleplay hub || Run by Sats || Not Spoiler Free
⛔ triggering content. 🔞 nsfw lore. ⚠️ spoiler warning. 👿 villain/moral ambiguity.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TL;DR: do you like spooks? ‘cause i play a lot of spooks. or things which are basically spooks.
or can be easily mistaken as spooks, even if they are in fact not spooks.
have fun.
basics
MUTUALS ONLY, BUT FLEXIBLE.As long as you are following one of my sideblogs and I am following back via @fluffghostrp, then I will interact with you. However, because working out of sideblogs is suffering and tumblr is coded ass-backwards, if you don't follow the hub blog then it is nigh impossible for me to actually keep track of who is in a mutual follow with me.Despite this, i'm generally pretty open to anyone who comes my way, regardless of whether or not they follow me.GHOSTING?Unfortunately, due to the fact that i cannot accurately track who follows me thanks to tumblr's ass-backwards management of sideblogs, there is a high chance that i will ghost you on complete accident.I promise I am not ignoring you on purpose - my memory is just bad and I tend to forget that normal people like to socialize. So I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to poke me every now and again, because I WILL forget whether or not a specific person is open to ooc communication.LOW ACTIVITY.I am EXTREMELY low activity. I'm sorry, there's no getting around it. I just am. Don’t be alarmed if it takes me half a year to reply. No really, I'm not joking. It's happened before, it will happen again.Any updates/changes to my activity status (or any other ooc status update) will typically only be posted on the hub blog.WORK CONFLICTSI'm a full time security guard. While this gives me remarkable flexibility when it comes to my activity and getting replies done, my client site has no wi-fi. So i am unable to reliably access tumblr or my replies.Until I can figure out a good way to get around this, i am on permenent semi-hiatus. I'll reply. It just... might take a long time. Especially for longer threads.RULE PASSWORDS?I get horrible anxiety over this, so i don't do it. i do read your rules before interacting with you - in fact i tend to triple-check them just to make sure i haven't missed anything. But I'm not likely to send in a passcode unless i'm in a very good mindset to do so.
SOURCE MATERIAL.I highly enjoy crossover interactions, and actively rp with the idea that folks are actively unaware of the source series my muses may come from. So it is completely unnecessary to have any knowledge of a muse's respective source material to follow or roleplay with me. You are fine with having no knowledge whatsoever. If I don’t RP in your normal fandoms but you still want to reach out, just pester Merry’s muse for an ice breaker! She’s the most crossover-friendly muse I have, simply due to her being a literal reality-hopper in her canon.WORDY BIRDY.When i start writing, i start snowballing. Please don't ever feel required to match length - all i ask is that you don't give me a sentence in response to a paragraph (give me something for my muse to think about and respond to). Don't feel the need to pile on excess content because i got carried away.ORIGINAL LORE & HEADCANON USAGE POLICIES.I tend to create or dive into elaborate world building and such, and am more than happy to share it! All I ask is if you're heavily ripping/adopting anything i've created wholesale for your own lore, without changing it to better reflect your own ideas and setting, then can you at least give me basic credit. (or like... be open to interacting with me? if you're going to use my stuff, throw me a bone, yeah?)WHERE ARE MY MUSE PROFILES???Due to incidents with folks not reading my rules before interacting with me, the links to any and all muse information are located only through the muse tab of this card.Just because a muse is marked as on-request doesn't mean you can't interact with them! it just means that they are a bit of a work in progress, or i'm not able to be in their mindset 24/7. Feel free to throw something at them if they interest you, more often than not this status means that i need to give them a proper test drive!NO-FOLLOW CONDITIONS?Dude, just be a chill person who thinks critically about the content they're engaging in. Wanting to properly portray a story even if it touches on something incredibly uncomfortable is one thing, but actively choosing to go out of your way and be a social problem is another. Don't do sexual things with kids. Don't harass or harm your fellow rpers, actively or passively. For any reason. Like seriously, just don't be the person that your parents warned you about on the internet.Beyond that, i'll generally only no-go a follow if you reblog a ton of unrelated/personal content, political content, or if you reblog untagged sexual/intimate stuff.
nsfw & content warnings
CONTENT WARNINGS.A lot of the series I roleplay in aren't afraid to dip into some seriously dark content matter, or may have their fingers in some uncomfortable topics. I do not actively seek out or roleplay these things, but I do not shy away from them as a topic, either.Beyond these general warnings, I am also a horrible folklore gremlin, and as you know, traditional folklore does not pull it's punches. It will touch upon some extremely uncomfortable, squicky, or dark topics. Exact references will vary, but controversial topics that are common in traditional lore, mythology, and history in general will be present on my blogs. Some bad shit has happened to my characters, generally due to their lore and history. Some of them are not afraid to lift a hand against others, and do some pretty terrible things.. This is simply a matter of fact with life and with folklore. It can happen. It has happened. It will happen. I play villains, if i wish to portray what they are accurately, i need to be willing to dive into those topics. However, BIG IMPORTANT NOTE - even if I'm willing to touch upon these topics for what they are, they will never be implemented lightly or on a whim. They will always be treated with the utmost respect and concern they require, and I will also only approach them with the express consent of my writing partner. I do not indulge myself in those topics or take joy from them existing. Any references made will be done with proper gravitas. Any unavoidable major triggers that are related to a particular muse in question will be mentioned on that muse's profile. But none-the-less, be mindful of what you're getting into by following me. A lot of the series i roleplay in - whether it be their series lore or the folkloric inspiration as a whole - don't pull their punches.TL;DR: I write with traditional fairy tale and folklore tropes. Expect dark content.ALSO - just because I am willing to reference dark topics does not mean I am willing to indulge in them, nor does it mean i will support anyone who misuses or misappropriates those topics in any way. I am a horror writer, yes, but i write to exploring concepts and encourage development by introducing hurdles to be overcome. i do not write horror or bring up sensitive topics for the joy of committing harm or indulging in taboos.TRIGGERS.I have major triggers involving sex and intimacy - clinical triggers, meaning there are consequences that may require medical interference, should they be tripped. Now, I have no issue with sexual or intimate content for simply being what it is, nor am I adverse to it - this is not a matter of discomfort. It is a matter of being in full control of when and where i decide to view it. As long as basic tagging courtesy is followed (even just a basic and unaltered NSFW tag), i should be just fine.SMUT??Going along with the above rule, again, i have no issue with sexual content. I don't mind referencing that a muse as a sex life, or having it come up as a topic in a thread. It is completely alright to approach nsfw topics in passing. It is actually writing out sexual scenarios or writing for sexual gratification is not my cup of tea. The occasional teasing jab, implication, or casual talk is fine, as is occasional flirting with the line. But actual blatant nsfw content is something i really gotta be comfortable with my writing partner to portray.SHIPPING.Certain muses will be selective or off the table, either due to their quirks or my comfort levels. IE: if the muse is a child/easily mistaken as a child, or if the muse cannot or should not be trusted in a romantic situation. Beyond that, I am a multi-shipper and prone to extremely slow burns so long as the ship has some chemistry working it along. Just be reasonable and respectful of boundaries.INTERACTING WITH MINORS?I really do not care to play social minesweeper, and as a horror writer my content isn't exactly kid friendly. But it's also not going to be R18 in any capacity. So if you're a minor following me, i don't really care? But i also won't go out of my way to interact with you lot. In anycase, I'm going to be the adult in the situation and act accordingly. So if you're a minor and you decide to follow me despite all my warnings about what content i write, then that's on you.
Drama & Tolerance
SATS WHY IS THIS SECTION A WHOLE ENTIRE NOVEL???Because it's necessary, apparently.I have a reputation for being salted earth in regards to people lighting fires on my front lawn. I make a point to tackle my problems and solve them properly so that they don't get a chance to turn into drama.I will of course give the benefit of the doubt regarding a genuine concern someone thinks I should be aware of, and will keep such things in mind. But i'm going to squint heavily at a public callout or a full blown rpc witch hunt. For every legitimately bad egg, there's a dozen more that just fell and got cracked. We are only human. We will all make horrifically bad decisions without thinking. Yes, even the things we think should be clear cut common sense. We are in fact, just plain stupid at times. Even me, even you. What matters to me is whether there is genuine remorse over what was done, and a desire to do better. I will view things for myself and make my own judgements - so call me naive or blindly optimistic if you want, but if I have the ability to give someone a chance, I want to at least try. I am not going to fault someone for simply being human, if that turns out to be what actually happened. Now, this does not excuse anyone's actions, of course. I am not turning a blind eye. Especially not for the Really Bad Shit. I've deal with the actual bad eggs multiple times, to their messy conclusions - and I don't 'magically forget' or even remotely forgive. A problem is still a problem, whether or not it was caused in earnest or on accident, or even unknowingly. That just means it needs to be handled properly - and proper handling does not equal cruelty.I will be kind and I will be civil, unless I decide the situation requires otherwise. So if you are on my lawn with someone you do not like or have problems with, then please be civil with each other and keep your issues at the door. I will listen to your concerns, but I will look into the situation properly, and I will not tolerate unnecessary fights on my front lawn.ALSOI am quite literally existing in my own corner, and i like keeping it that way. So consider me unaffiliated with any of the fandoms or rpcs of the series my characters belong to. (Because seriously, what in the goddamn hell, you guys?)DEATH OF A THOUSAND PAPERCUTS.I may be a very forgiving person who actively believes in and goes out of my way to see the good in people, but there will be consequences if my civility is taken advantage of. I truly have no tolerance for those who try to skirt the line or think they can hide behind my patience - and I will block if i feel this is the case.
MUN

Mun FC: Kosuzu Motoori (touhou project)
Discord: fluffghostHey there, I’m Sats, I've been rping on tumblr since 2011-2012 or so. For folks who don't recognize my name offhand, i'm basically a downright ancient face originating from the touhou rpc. Yeah - if that sounds familiar, i'm THAT Sats. Anyways, after juggling way too many blogs and stretching myself thin across too many dashboards, i’ve condensed the majority of my muses into sideblogs here.As far as I go, I’m a pretty gosh-darn quiet homoromantic-ace gal around 30 yrs or so, with a penchant for folklore. Expect that to come into play on any of my blogs, for better or worse. Also, I’m incredibly slow to approach folks - primarily due to my personality being dead quiet to a fault.Don’t be alarmed if it takes me literal ages (possibly even years) to reach out.
MODUS OPERANDI. My attitude towards RP is that it's a very laid back hobby in a sandbox corner that i've carved out for myself, as a way to experiment creatively and play around with developing characters and settings. Anyone and everyone is welcome to share this corner that i've created and play in my sandbox however you all want - just follow proper etiquette and respect the boundaries of your fellow rpers that want to play in this corner as well!
CONTACT. If you would like to reach out to me, i'm about as threatening as a capybara masquerading as a sheet ghost. Very mellow, very sleepy-chill. Just please know that I do not tolerate the usual rpc nonsense revolving around drama so please, i beg you. Let these old ancient bones sleep and cultivate a quiet sandbox for all. I respond to tumblr IMs, Fanmail, and asks, but the easiest way to get ahold of me is if you have my Discord. Just take it easy and know that i'm very low-energy so i don't keep up with most conversations well.
GENRE. I’m all over the place in terms of genre, but due to how many of my muses are villains (or innocent people who get into big trouble), I do tend to veer towards conflict and anything which sparks character development and ongoing relationship exploring in terms of threads. Now, this means some of my muses are prickly, but as stated, i'm a literal capybara. Muse does not equal mun.
HORROR? I am a bit of a horror junkie and have no issues writing horror-based threads, but I will be careful about not sending folks into the deep-end with that. Likewise with fighting threads! I'm quite comfortable writing them, and have a system to allow full control of the situation to remain in my partner's hands, but if they're something you're iffy on, just let me know! a lot of my muses are prone to instigating a fight, but i can work something out.
CREDITS. Official art is preferred over doujin comics, which are preferred over fanart. In the event that the muse is not featured sufficiently in any of the official animations or comics, my icons for them will come from sfw doujin comics - official or parody - sold at events like Comiket and Reitaisai. While attempting to list every single source for the icons themselves would be a fool's errand here, i do keep the raws sorted neatly by source and artist, so just poke me and i shall provide. I crop and border all of my icons. The borders are my own creation.
JOB. As of June 2023 i am once again a working adult, and my activity online will fluxgate accordingly.

The power of belief is a forced to be reckoned with, capable of giving true life to mere concept and thought. The power of science and reality is it's counterpart - preventing such fantasy from gaining true sentience. In a world where belief in the nonsensical has been brought to a standstill, the creatures of fantasy have created a loophole - a safe haven, safe from extermination by the cruelty of human whim. The world we know and live in is one side of the coin - the world of fantasy and illusion which we rejected is the other. And the denizens of illusion have grown restless from boredom, trapped in their bubble of time and space. Dare you look beyond the boundary, knowing that whatever you may find will look back?

… INVESTIGATING …Kalos has many legends. Legends of wars, legends of beasts.
Of love, of kingdoms, of pride. Of fairies, dragons, devils and knights. Of life, of death, of order. Of people who can twist, tangle, weave the world around them, warp reality to their every whim. The religious claim they sold their souls to devils unimaginable.
Others say they are a forgotten step, an Evolution to the human race. And others think they’re blessed by the legends themselves. The origins of the cunning folk, the magician, the sorcière.The witch. There are many legends, vast in archetype and moral.
However, one particular story tells a tale of caution, many centuries old. That deep within the forest lays one such individual - and that if one is unlucky enough to catch her eye, she’ll turn them into a bird, never to be seen again. Some say she’s just a legend.
They are wrong.
A B O U T
A hermit who prefers to keep to herself, Bridgette is the type who gives respect where respect is due, and who will never leave a favor unpaid. As long as one respects her boundaries and doesn’t go out of their way to provoke her or make her nervous, she can be quite pleasant to be acquainted with. Hell, she can even be helpful, if she so desires! Given her age, she knows all manner of history and tidbits lost to time, and actively enjoys sharing some bits of knowledge without revealing where and why she knows them. For those who humor her curiosities, they will of course receive her gratitude in return. But don’t let the sweetness of that smile of hers fool you - smart, clever, and most certainly full of wit like any good witch is, Bridgette is self-centered and prideful, mischievous and cunning, cruel and petty - she’s still a witch through and through, and is not afraid to bare her fangs and live up to the reputation her kind has.Her mindset is more like the wild fey themselves, and she tends to behave like them too - meaning, at the expense of others. She knows what she wants, and she’s not afraid to take it - whether it belongs to her or not. Which unfortunately, comes to the brunt of her reputation. As pleasant as she can be, if she finds someone interesting enough company, she’ll want to keep them by her side. And not as a partner - Bridgette is a kidnapping witch. Many individuals have gone missing after meeting her, after having caught her eye.Toys to be played with, collected, admired - all the while trapped in Murkrow form, reduced to no more than a mere pet. She liked them enough to consider keeping them by her side - shouldn’t they be honored? She found them interesting, after all. Is it wrong? Maybe. But she’s a witch, not a human. Human law and moral codes be damned, they do not apply.Thankfully, for all of her pride and false bravado, she is not brave. Villainous, maybe. Antagonistic certainly. But brave? No.Skittish, overcautious, and fearful, in the face of adversary she will inevitably choose to preserve her own life. If she doesn’t think it’s advantageous to strike back, then she won’t - she’ll wait and bide her time, find a time for when the one who slighted her is alone. But she won’t lash out without knowing what she’s up against. She knows her limits, and she knows what will happen if she gets caught, if her powers become known, if she loses a battle she can’t win. Her freedom is precious to her, she’d rather die than risk giving it up. She’s faced - and lived through - the burning times, she’s faced prosecution, she’s been on death’s door. She knows when to pick her battles, she knows when to run.Good luck catching her.

Being well… a witch, Bridgette is not the best close-combat fighter. Much less a fighter in general. Without some sort of buffer keeping attacks at bay, or a cushion to lessen the power of any force dealt to her... she’s got the physical defenses of a wet paper bag. If forced into a corner, most of her bite comes from centuries of experience and sheer intelligence, rather than any sort of physical or magical power. Her talents make her inclined for speed and deception, not brute strength.Of course, if given the opportunity, she will flee instead of fight.(yes, she’s a ‘runs away first turn’ encounter.)When it comes to actual fights, she’s underhanded first and foremost. She approaches situations in ways that will let her trick the opponent and then run away mid-battle, meaning she prefers tactics that focus on stalling, tricking, or distracting a foe - just long enough to allow an opening to escape. She does not plan to actually WIN encounters, just to escape from them. She has no tactical or actual training - and this shows. As such, she heavily depends on outsmarting or outgambiting an opponent rather than keeping to a traditional fight. If her usual tricks do not work, then she’ll put that mind of hers to work to find an escape route. And if escape isn’t available?
Then she’ll make it available. However, if backed into a corner, she does have one more trick up her sleeve- lure her attacker in close, and then cast a curse while their guard is down. She is a witch of transformation, and is not afraid to use it on others as a last resort, should she fear capture or worse. As a Murkrow, she uses the EXACT same tactics. Who would’ve thought? She cannot replicate a Murkrow’s moveset, but she can use the same moves as witnessed in her human form. She comes off as an extremely smart murkrow, though - her behavior is replicated well, but her intelligence still shines through the transformation. Regardless, she almost never fights physically when transformed - rather, she behaves more like a Honchkrow than a murkrow, directing the flock to attack in her stead, while she hangs out from a higher perch to observe the fight.Having gained a Fairy’s typing thanks to her own soul’s magical inclinations, she retains their weaknesses to steel and poison accordingly. Either of these properties entering the fray can be fight-ending moves. Cold iron, and steel in general, is your friend when subduing this witch.Aside from that, common sense will also be your friend.
Simply because she can use magic does not mean she is a miracle-worker.
If she’s being tricky to catch? Outsmart her.

A P P E A R A N C E
Bridgette is a small girl, standing roughly 5' or so tall, maybe a couple inches more if her boots have heels. Bright red eyes, feathery shoulder-length black hair (sometimes held back in a low ponytail), and a fair complexion of someone who clearly doesn’t spend much of her time in the sun.Pinpointing her exact age is difficult - those who have tried have thought her to be anywhere in her mid to late twenties, maybe even early 30s at most.Clothing depends on season and weather - lighter garb will often consist of shin-length dark cotton skirts, white or gray blouses, and a black porkpie hat with a white ribbon. Brown boots meant for rough travel, and in the event of rain or cold weather, she’ll wear a black, knee-length wool coat to stay warm. A dark brown shoulder bag serves to carry everything else. Outfits picked for comfort and travel, though they hardly seem to get dirty, or perhaps a bit too nice to be chosen for rough forest travel. But all outfits have two items in common: A murkrow-feather shawl or cloak, and a red ruby brooch.A completely normal girl, at first glance.Well, almost.Further observation reveals some uncanny traits - especially in her face. For as human as she appears, there’s a few noticeable deviations. Bright red eyes which have an uncanny look if one inspects them - the mana within her body turned the pupil white instead of black, making them almost seem as if they’re glowing. Should she be unhealthy or her core of magic hurt, the white will be dull. They also have eyeshine, reflecting light much like an animal - careful pointing flashlights at her, unless you want a scare. She has fangs as well, though she’s no vampire or loup-garou. They are purely for display, but they’ll send a shiver down the spine none-the-less. A clear, folkloric mark of a shapeshifting witch - who always retains a little bit of a beastly appearance even in human form, whether it be shaggy hair, clawed nails, or fanged teeth. Her appearance isn’t limited to this though - as Bridgette is a shapeshifter, she can change her appearance and form at will. This appearance is simply what she’s most comfortable with, her closest approximation to what she thinks she’s supposed to look like.At least she’s pretty sure - her own faulty memory has influenced her own appearance, and that her true form is less natural, and more her own ‘ideal’ design of what she knows she used to look like.
A L T E R N A T E
MURKROW. A Murkrow that looks and acts no different than any other Murkrow at first glance. The feathers, when separated from the form, turn into a wispy black smoke and disappear. Used for stealth and travel.HALF-TRANSFORMATION. Bridgette is fully capable of transforming select parts of her body into a half-bird state, whether they be talons, feathers, wings, etc. Given the hybrid nature of this type of transformation, it can give her a rather monstrous, harpy-looking appearance - but it’s just as fragile as her human form is, so it’s mainly used utility over combat.OTHER POKEMON. A replica of a known pokemon, which acts in the same way as her usual Murkrow transformation. If the species is not local to Kalos, Bridgette will not able to mimic it’s natural behavior, as she is not familiar with their behaviors.MONSTER BIRD. Not an actual transformation, just a mass of smoke and mirrors brought on by a combination of Haze/Smokescreen and Night Shade. It looks looks like a giant, shadowy bird of unknown, corvid origin. As it has no combat ability, it is used entirely to scare people away and make her look much, much bigger than she actually is.DOPPELGANGER. A mirror image replica of another person. She can turn into anyone or anything, given enough time and observation. Key word: Can. Just because she can, doesn’t mean she will. Despite her broad transformation abilities, she loathes turning into other people, and refuses to stay in their forms any longer than necessary. When she does, she typically only does out of pettiness, like by getting them in trouble for things they didn’t actually do by wearing their face.
N O T E S
- She cannot create a fabricated persona - she has to have seen the person she’s turning into at least once in her life.
- It’s accuracy is based off memory - the longer she can observe her target, the more accurate the mirror image will be. She cannot replicate fighting prowess, personality, behavior, or anything else that might be indicative of that person beyond mimicking their appearance.
- She cannot copy their voice, and their eyes will retain the same white pupil.
- This transformation does not qualify as an actual doppelganger, and retains none of the dangers of running into one.

FLETA ♀ ~lv.48
Naughty / Prankster
fairy lock ● magic room ● torment ● crafty shield ● switcheroo ● play rough ● toxic

MURKROW ~lv. 18-22
(multiple x???)
peck ● astonish ● taunt ● haze ● assurance
Small enough to be mistaken for a toy at a glance, this Klefki is Bridgette’s familiar, and is never found far from the witch - often posing as if it were nothing but a normal accessory, and only showing it’s true nature to those it deems personally worthy of such.Quite possessive of Bri, it dislikes sharing Bri’s attention - whether that attention be human or pokemon in origin. Despite its haughty and downright frustrating behavior, Bri holds it in high regard, outright refusing to break the contract or bond with a different familiar. Or rather, she doesn’t feel like that’s her call to make, Perhaps there’s a debt being repaid?Like all object-based pokemon, Klefki is a tsukumogami-type- meaning it is a spirit possessing an object. In this case, a Fae spirit possessing a key ring. But for a witch, this also makes it an agathion - a type of familiar which hides within a household object, and can take either pokemon, human, or object form at will.Fleta refers to itself interchangeably as either genderless or female, so correct pronouns are They/She.
SMALL. Fleta is extremely small for a Klefki, about 4" in diameter rather than 8". She masquerades perfectly as a toy. She is able to easily be carried and can accompany Bri outside of Kalos.
SILVER. Fleta’s body is made of silver rather than iron, so Bri can handle her without gloves! She has to be careful of her Steel moves, though.
FAE SPIRIT. Fleta is a tsukumogami-type pokemon, a spirit possessing an object. However, this does not mean she is a ghost - she is not, and has never been, dead. She is simply an incorporeal Fae spirit that manifests physically using a Key ring. Nothing more, nothing less.
AGATHION. The spirit can leave the keys it is possessing at will, becoming an incorporeal spirit. It is not able to interact with other creatures or solid objects without it’s keyring body. It can only take on human form around midday.
WILD. Fleta is wild, and thus perfectly capable of being caught in a pokeball. However, she will typically abandon the key ring she’s possessing, and thus her Klefki form, in order to avoid this. If caught in a pokeball, she will be trapped in the Key ring body so long as she remains registered to it.
SKELETON KEY. The key Fleta is possessing is a skeleton key. Combined with her Prankster ability and bolstered by her Familiar status, she can flat-out open physical locks as long as there’s a keyhole. Comes in handy when Bri is trespassing or locked up. Doesn’t work on electronic or any type of digital lock.
Wherever the witch goes, the birds will follow, either in number, or just a few. They’re entirely wild - she gives them very few orders, allowing them to roam free and create their own havoc however they please. Upon closer inspection, there’s something odd about these birds…
TYPES OF VICTIMS. Lost travelers & townsfolk, occasional trainers, missing children, tourists, homeless, drifters, punks, swindlers, thieves, team recruiters & grunts, woodsmen, hunters, poachers, trappers. folks who were in the wrong place at the wrong wrong time, attacked her, offended her, or she found interesting.
The birds have a slight, but not drastic, female-to-male skew.KNOWN BIRDS.
Red & the Woodsman. traveller who was tricked by bri, and the tradesman who came to her defense and failed. both greatly dislike bri.
Marceline & Leonine. pair of siblings who found her house and broke into it. they didn’t get to leave.
Wolfe. liar liar pants on fire.
Alice. got lost, still doesn’t know how to fly.
TRAVEL. The Murkrow are localized, their wings have limits to how far they can travel. They cannot accompany her outside of Kalos. However, this does not mean she is Murkrow-less - Bri may befriend and be accompanied by Murkrow native to the region she is visiting - in this case, the flock will be much smaller in number and cannot be compelled to protect her.
POKEBALLS. Pokeball tech does not register them properly - they function as true Murkrow, unlike Bridgette herself, but due to Bridgette’s meddling they are protected from being caught in pokeballs. The balls will just spit them back out as a failed catch. This effect can however be overridden if the safety lock is modified ... or if Bridgette rescinds her protection.
MARKINGS. Birds which were previously human may have very subtle differences between them. These differences typically reflect the individual in their human life - a human with striking blue eyes might keep those eyes as a murkrow, or if they had a bright red cloak when stolen, they might have a reddish tint to their feathers as a bird.
NAMES. All murkrow have their names from their human lives, however Bri herself doesn’t always know them. She’s generally never asked, and tends to refer to them through nicknames. Whether a bird remembers their own name depends on whether or not that bird’s memory remainsintact.
LANGUAGE. As Murkrow, they have a limited ability to speak human language. As Bri cannot stop them from speaking, should they choose to do so, they have been jinxed to not tattle or disobey as a preventative measure.

AURORA ♀ ~lv.1
Quirky / Anticipation / Likes to fight
Tackle ● Growl ● Agility ● Psybeam ● StompAn egg gifted to her from Clara’s family, it eventually hatched into a small unicorn. Bridgette is a bit wary of the foal, as per her general distrust of horses - horses are not exactly good omens in kalosian folklore, due to an extinct variant she once knew having a less than stellar reputation. But she has made space for it all the same, giving it a small stable and free reign of the surrounding forest. It has a typical folkloric unicorn build, and hangs out most often with a Morgrem that has come to live in the garden. While Galarian Ponyta are known for only showing themselves to pure souls that have no ill intent, it does choose to remain with Bri. From what it can see of her inner self, it knows that while Bridgette can certainly hold malice (as all souls can)... for the most part, she just seems sad.
It knows a couple egg moves, but otherwise is very low-level as it is newly born.

MORDRED ♂ ~lv.35
Careful / Pickpocket / Often lost in thought
Fake Tears ● Bite ● Flatter ● Assurance ● False Surrender ● Dark PulseA little gremlin that took interest in Bri during one of her business trips to Galar. Sneaky and conniving, it’s a very mischievous sort that gets along well with Bri’s more malicious tendencies. However, beyond that it’s fairly laid back, and seems most comfortable around the unicorn Aurora. It can often be found around Aurora’s stable, or hanging out in the unicorn’s vicinity.
M I S C
POWER SOURCE. Bri’s power sources are the constantly circulating energies in the moving wind and open sky - not internally in her body, though she is capable of storing up a limited degree of that power.BODY. Her body operates off mana and is fully dependent on being connected to a greater leyline at all times - it keeps her alive, she will not survive long if her connection is severed.EYES. Eyes are light reflective - she has eye shine, and will reflect light from street lamps, flash lights, cameras, etc. Outside of that, her eyes tend to have a very soft, dull red glow in low lighting.FANGS. Bridgette has fangs! They’re her shapeshifter tell, and are small in size, meant for display rather than practical use. They will still break skin, though.IRRADIATED. Her body is practically irradiated with energy, and has no real way to hide this. She will show up on any radar that is made to detect the presence of pokemon, energy leaks, or other anomalies. The reading will probably spike when she speaks.HEALING. The magic keeping her body alive actively repairs and maintains it, so she’s prone to healing ever-so-slightly faster than a regular human. Not remarkably so, but a little bit faster. She also doesn’t usually get visibly scarred unless the injury was made by something that clashes with the energy keeping her alive - ie: steel, acid, or poison.SENSITIVE. Due to being highly attuned to a leyline, she’s able to sense the flow of magic and any major disturbances to it in her immediate area. She’ll generally use this as a forewarning for changes in her environment and react accordingly.COLOR. When manifesting as raw unfocused energy (or when being discharged), Bridgette’s powers have a whitish-pink glow!PARALYZED VOICE. As her vocal cords were destroyed, she has to use a charm that lets her ‘voice her thoughts’ in order to communicate properly. Also, as there was lasting damage from the event which destroyed it - beyond causing the loss of her voice, the iron weakened her body so she wears out fast.PSYCHIC. Bridgette is not a psychic and shows no sign of psychic ability - she cannot generate power by using her own self as the power source, use telekinesis, read minds, or anything else like that. However, she will generally view psychics and the like as pre-evolved Mages and consider them kindred, even if they’re not the same. (This does not make them safe from being abducted into birds, though).NAME. Bridgette’s true name is Brid de la Voye, as far as a name’s use in magic goes. This is on a need-to-know basis. Her ‘middle names’ are self-chosen.“KALOSIAN”. Predates modern Kalos, and views herself more as an entity that belongs to the land rather than a true citizen of Kalos. She holds no national pride.INJURIES. Large scar on left side of abdomen (clean cut, iron blade, made by a honedge). white streak marks Body is riddled with very faded white streak marks (aftermath of being put through ‘confession’). fleur-de-lis Small brand on right shoulder (also aftermath of ‘confession’). Both femurs & shoulder blades show signs of having been broken at one point. These injuries have no outward indicator, but will be revealed by x-ray.HOUSE. Bridgette’s lair is a proper witch’s house, hidden deep within Route 14. Not a traditional house, though - it’s hidden much like the realm within a fairy ring. If you find the ruins of a century’s old stone cottage, then you’re in the right area.RELIGION. Old-world pagan. Pokemon-wise, this means she primarily worships the Xerneas/Yveltal/Zygarde trio, but does hold respect for entities from other regions.TECH. Man made items won’t be fooled and will register her as an unknown entity regardless of form. However, she’s similar enough to humans that Pokeballs don’t register her as a Pokemon unless modded to do so.CRIMES. Her worst and most numerous crime is kidnapping, though she is also known to have committed maleficarum and petty theft. She has also committed the rare and occasional murder, though she dislikes resorting to it.

Ability to understand other languagesDue to the communication charm attached to her brooch, Bridgette can understand people in her vicinity regardless of the language that they speak, and they can understand the thoughts she wishes to relay, even if she is not able to physically speak them. It does absolute wonders for clearing communication barriers. This also includes Pokemon speech.Bridgette does actually naturally know some degree of Pokemon-speech, to some degree - she’s able to understand some species better than others, and only because of prolonged exposure and knowledge of how they speak. Her brooch translates the intent and meaning behind pokemon vocalizations, so she can perfectly understand them so long as she is wearing it. However, she can have incredible difficulty understanding the full intentions of pokemon which do not use verbal communication to speak. She might understand their body language, yes, but not their words, especially of species she’s not previously familiar with.Without this brooch charm, Bridgette can only understand but not speak the languages she naturally knows (Kalosian, German, Celtic, etc) - and is entirely unable to vocally communicate.
A D D . R U L E S
SHIPPING. Eeehh... Bri is demi-ace, but with a few specific caveats. While she is perfectly capable of holding a crush, she doesn’t see love or romance the way most people do - she’s more likely to turn someone she likes into one of her birds than view them as a potential romantic partner. While it’s not impossible to romance her, due to her general go-to behaviors I can’t see it being easily obtained, nor can I in good faith recommend trying. You’re welcome to try, just expect it to be a harsh uphill climb... which might result in a Bad End. It CAN happen, and there's routes that can lead there. But they aren't easy to pursue.ANTAGONIST. Despite the fact that Bri tends to act extremely pleasant and polite, she is still a kidnapping witch who holds very little regard for the life of others. Though she can be helpful or acting for the greater good should it benefit her, at her core she is a selfish person who acts in her own interest above all else. She is arrogant. She is over-confident. She is petty. She won’t think twice about taking anything (or anyone) that interests her. This should not be forgotten or disregarded. Most importantly though, feel free to have her actions come back to bite her! Hard! Let karma come to collect it’s dues.BAD ENDS. I will warn ahead of time if something in our threads could lead to a kidnapping scenario, or if something may turn similarly hazardous. No matter what happens, I will not initiate that kind of event without your express consent, and the fate of your muse will be left entirely in your hands. Even if you do wish for them to be taken, becoming a bird does not have to be a permanent scenario, or put a stop to our interactions. Just let me know how you’d like to play it out - I’ll follow your lead.MOVESETS. I follow a form of Pokemon Special's take to learning moves: Pokemon can know more than 4 moves, anything up to their appropriate level. However, though they can only keep track of and actually use up to 4 moves consecutively, when used in short order. This includes Bri.Furthermore, Pokemon (and Bri) are not limited to one ability - though only one is prominent as their main ability. The other one or two abilities - including their hidden one - are weaker and often do not activate during battle. What is listed are their most commonly recently seen moves, as well as their primary ability.
F a Q
SHE’S A WITCH? Yep! Specifically, a traditional fairy-tale type witch. The kind you’d see talked about in folklore or legends. She’s not a modern or Hollywood-type witch. Why? There’s quite a few unexplained things in Pokemon’s universe, from ghost events to giant, immortality-granting fairy-powered death weapons. Things which… don’t exactly function by the rules of science as we know it. Bri is tailored to explore that side of the Pokemon World. Also there was an actual witch in an episode of the anime, so I’m taking it and running.DIFFERENCES? Witch, mage, sorcerer, they’re all essentially the same thing in lore in the end - a mystical, magic-using person who can help or hinder the protagonist depending on their role in the story. Different names from different cultures for the same thing. I use the terms interchangeably, as they’re technically referring to the same type of character archetype, and thus the same type of being on this blog.WHO CAN KNOW SHE’S A WITCH? As long as your character is the observant type, and is able to catch onto her gambit if it’s within their own capabilities, then it’s entirely your call.If your character is another supernatural creature, has sensitivities to the world around them (psychics/aura users/etc), a fairy type, or fairy type specialist, then feel free to have them know right off the bat or know something’s extremely about her! They have the means for it, so you don’t need my permission for that.BALANCING? If you see anything which does in fact make Bri seem too powerful or is being portrayed in an unfair way, let me know immediately so I can re-balance and knock her down a peg. I need to know these things so I can improve her character and make sure everything stays fair and enjoyable, so your input is much appreciated.IS THE MAGIC ON THIS BLOG BASED IN REALITY? You mean modern witchcraft and/or any associated religions? No. She’s not that type of witch. She is very strictly a fairy tale type of witch. I know there’s a very active scene for witchcraft, but it is not something that I am personally involved with, so I'm purposely avoiding it in order to avoid possibly disrespecting current practitioners. However, if you are a current practitioner and you have ideas, suggestions, or anything else you’d like me to think about, I’m all ears! Just because I'm not using modern witchcraft on this blog doesn’t mean I'm not open to improving how I portray things on this muse.ORIGINS. Bridgette is based on traditional folklore associated with the concept of witches, as well as their standings in history over the course of time, and the old fairy tales involving them. Bridgette herself takes direct inspiration from the German fairy tale Jorinde and Joringel. Of course, modified to put a Pokemon appropriate spin on things. She is specifically meant to be a fairy-tale type witch.IS SHE HUMAN? OR POKEMON? Neither or Both. Mages are a borderline existence between humanity and everything else, so they’re an uncanny existence with a foot in both doors - one with humanity, and one with pokemon. She looks like a human at face value, but her biology beyond implies otherwise. As such, she’d be a bit of a scientific curiosity if discovered.Whether or not she's going to be classified as one or the other - or neither - should be done in-thread, between characters. Is she a pokemon, or is she human? Or is she something else entirely? Enjoy your moral ambiguity.RUMORS & ASSUMPTIONS? Feel free to assume anything about Bridgette’s nature! I mean it! That’s the whole point of her type of character existing - there should be more rumors flying around about her than fact! It doesn’t matter if it’s true or not - the idea that someone out there, somewhere, believes it is true is what matters. If you wanna think she may or may not have done something, no matter how silly or serious, go for it! I’ll run to the hills with it.

A B O U T
Far within the near future, where humanity’s understanding of science has reached its peak. Where all known mysteries have all been uncovered. Where nothing is left to be discovered within the world. This is the world of reality for Maeriberi Hearn, and her partner in crime, Renko Usami. A pair of two university students living within the age, these two hide a secret that makes them stand out from the crowd. Within their eyes they each carry an uncanny ability, capable of viewing things which normal humans cannot. A secret kept between the two of them, the existence of such abilities unnatural, anomalies to be rejected by the reality known to the world in which they live. For Merry, the ability to see boundaries has always been her reality. The rips and tears between physical and even metaphorical concepts, the seams and gaps which make up the world as we know it. An inherited ability, it has existed within her lineage since ancient times. Not only can she see them - she can visit beyond them as well. Landscapes from time immemorial, castles which float upside down, satellites lost in space. Eras long past. Impossible locations. Creatures witnessed which should not exist. And sometimes, she brings these things back with her. These are not mere dreams. But for others, such a thing is the talk of madmen. After all, how can such things be unknown? How can other worlds beyond their own exist? What good comes from being able to view the unknown? In a world where the state of their lives came to be through fear of what we do not know?Thankfully, she is not without support.Renko Usami, a physics student who also attends her university, believes in her ability. After all, Renko’s eyes are uncanny in a way all their own. Able to tell her time and location from the stars and the moon respectively, to an uncanny degree - not even to mention the associations are opposite of what those celestial bodies tell. Why should it be unbelievable that Merry’s eyes can do the impossible, when hers are similarly uncanny too?For this reason, she believes in what Merry is capable of seeing. And that, if Merry is able to physically bring things back from the places she sees in these so-called dreams….. perhaps they’re not truly dreams. Merry is not a madwoman, and Renko is sure of it. If Merry’s perception of what is real and what is not has become unsure, then perhaps Merry should make these dreams of hers into her own reality. This is worthwhile to pursue.Together, these two are the sole remaining members of the Secret Sealing Club. A club for ‘necromancers’ and ‘mediums’, with the sole purpose of exposing boundaries, researching and bringing to reality the places which Merry sees, and to discover these remaining mysteries on Earth.

BOUNDARY PERCEPTION. Quite literally, to see boundaries - the rips, tears, and gaps in space which separate one concept from another.
- For the most part, it manifests itself as the ability to view into other worlds - both ones supported by reality, and ones considered imaginary. She can locate and deduce where boundaries might lead to, or what lies beyond them.
- The gaps themselves look like literal tears or cracks, as if someone took an edge of reality and peeled it away to see what was underneath. Particularly unraveled ones may fracture out to look like cracked glass.
- A multitude of disembodied eyes might be witnessed within the gap by particularly unlucky viewers. Only Merry is able to see these cracks in reality naturally.BOUNDARY CROSSING. If she gets too close to a boundary, it may pull her over to the other side.
- This happens most often while asleep, but she has started to slip through while awake as well. Some boundaries are more resistant to being crossed over than others.
- She may appear within any point in time or space - It could be at any point in any past era, on abandoned space satellites, or other planes of reality entirely. Nothing is out of reach or off-limits - no matter how well-guarded it may be.
- She brings back “souvenirs” - usually small harmless items, but she has also brought back injuries or unknown illnesses as well.
- If attacked during this state, Merry may scare herself into ‘waking up’ from the ‘nightmare’. This will subconsciously create a boundary that pulls her back into the safety of what she considers her own reality. This cannot yet be done at will, and is only done under stress or possible threat of death.BOUNDARY MANIPULATION (limited). Merry’s powers are getting stronger and evolving the more she experiments with them.
- She is now able to travel across boundaries while awake, and is also taking baby-steps to open and create her own gaps in reality.
- Due to some experimentation, her abilities seem to be connected to liminal spaces - locations that seem thin in sheer reality - but especially to shrines.
- Going by the development of her abilities and what she's currently been shown capable of, she is very likely capable of also instigating short-range teleportation and clairvoyance via purposefully placed boundaries.ASTRAL / IMAGE PROJECTION (in others). She can bring others with her across the boundaries, show them her own memories, or reflect their mental landscapes back at them. This is extremely straightforward.
- All she needs to do this is to be in physical contact, and have the intent to bring them. But as they perceive it as a dream due to their own disconnect - they don't perceive it as 'real' - they are only there in spirit. Not physically like herself.
- She can project her memories and thoughts - showing others the things she has seen, in her dreams or otherwise - by placing her hands over their eyes.
- If she has access to a mirror or similar reflective surface, she can ‘reflect’ the mental landscape of a person she is speaking with - letting them see whatever memory or image their mind has envisioned.LIE DETECTION. Merry is able to pinpoint whether or not someone is lying to her, and accurately judge whether or not a story she is being told is true or false. No matter how outlandish or realistic the story may seem, Merry can accurately judge whether or not what she is hearing is true.
- The origin behind this one is unclear, whether it is Merry herself viewing beyond the boundary of Truth and Lie, or simply the result of her being trained as a psychologist. Regardless, it’s still shown that she can be relied upon to do this accurately.

NAME. Her real spelling of her name is actually ‘Maeriberi’, pronounced ‘maeriberī’. It’s apparently hard to pronounce, so she will also respond to ‘Maribel’, and the short versions of ‘Mary’ and ‘Merry’ to avoid this difficulty.FUTURE. Merry is from the future! Exactly how far into the future is unknown, just that it’s ‘near’, and that it’s reached the height of provable scientific progress. I’d probably pin it down as a couple of centuries or five, give or take. Check the Touhou 101 link for specific information on quirks of her timeline.HERITAGE. Merry’s country of origin is unknown, only that she’s definitely a foreigner. She has no relatives living in the country with her, but there is very good possibility that she shares some sort of ancestry with Lafcadio Hearn. This makes it highly likely that she’s Irish.WITNESSED. Merry’s abilities have been witnessed publicly, with paranoid doctors having on at least one occasion quarantining her to a sanatorium for further study, under the pretext of considering the girl to be suffering from delusions.NO FLIGHT. Unlike most people in her series, Merry is not able to fly.FLOWER. She dislikes the lycoris flower (spider lily) due to finding them creepy.EYES. Merry’s eyes are a color-changing type of hazel! Specifically, it’s shown that they naturally range from dark grey to (more commonly) gold, but they may appear blue under the right lighting. However, bright yellow, red, and purple are not normal eye colors for her, and if they ever are, it may be best to treat her with caution.SENSITIVE. She’s sensitive to places of supernatural origin or happenstance, and may feel physically ill or disoriented in places where a very strong boundary exists. (ie: aokigahara, during the train incident)FOOD. The food in Merry’s world is… subpar. It’s extremely healthy, but natural ingredients have gone extinct or have been made obsolete, as society favors synthetic ingredients. She will be absolutely fascinated by food from other worlds, which has not been processed halfway to hell.ALCOHOL. Merry cannot handle old-world alcohol! If apple cider is strong enough to make her drunk, then she’s definitely not able to handle anything else!QUANTUM YOUKAI. While writing the Swallowstone, she theorizes that youkai follow the laws of quantum physics, and are invisible creatures that exist close or parallel to us, appearing by fluctuation. Thus, they can be explained on the Schrodinger’s Cat principle. By this concept, they should exist if they are observed. We just choose not to observe them, and the youkai faded away since they were unobserved.AUTHOR. Renko and Maribel have released a book entitled ‘Swallowstone Naturalis Historia’, with Dr. Latency as Merry’s pen name. No-one is aware that she is the author of this book, and there are frauds taking credit for it.YUKARI. While Merry’s relationship with Yukari is... admittedly unknown, she does resemble the elder youkai - uncannily so. Any muses who have met a Yukari Yakumo may be unsettled by the resemblance, do a double-take, or perhaps even mistake her for Yukari either at first glance or from a reasonable distance.UNSTABLE. Merry suffers from a mild Butterfly Dream, and doubts whether or not the reality she sees while awake is real, or if the true reality is the place she sees while asleep. Renko is encouraging her to make BOTH into her reality, and is currently acting as an anchor to stabilize her sanity. Without Renko’s presence, she may risk losing her grip on which reality is real, and end up disappearing to endlessly wander through worlds.

SOURCE MATERIAL. Touhou knowledge is not necessary to follow or roleplay with me - Merry is exclusive to the short stories and is a quite literal outsider to the rest of the setting. She is essentially her own standalone character, and works amazingly as a fandomless. For those of you curious about her canonical short stories, links to all of them are under History.BAD ENDS? This isn’t a risk for you guys, for once - this is Merry’s inevitable outcome. Without Renko around to sooth her fears and anchor herself to a clear reality, there’s a clearly stated risk that she may not come back from her wanderings and become an unsolved missing person’s case.(Tl;dr: Unless major efforts are taken to prevent this from occurring, she will likely become an inhuman creature that embodies the sheer concept of missing persons cases. She’s just a sweet human with a knack for disappearing now, but she is basically fated to become the monster she fears.)CROSSOVER-FRIENDLY. Merry is a world-hopper (albeit accidentally). This is canon! Understandably, this makes her incredibly flexible for crossovers - she acknowledges the possibility of multiple other realities, worlds, and other such universes via quantum physics, and is able to discover their boundaries and cross them.Merry is more likely to visit your muse’s setting than the other way around. Her world-hopping tends to be more akin to a horror story or urban legend, rather than like an Isekai. Please treat her accordingly. No, seriously. The girl is basically a cryptid encounter in human form. Turn your back on her and she’ll get into places she shouldn’t be. Have fun with that.UNCANNY EYES. Merry’s eyes can be ‘uncanny’ to look at and are likely to cause shivers of fear in those who see them, once that viewer is aware of her abilities. This is a passive supernatural ability due to humanity’s fear of the unknown, and upon realizing that Merry herself is supernatural induces an instinct in others that makes Merry herself feel equally unsettling and inhuman. Merry herself has no control or awareness of this byproduct of looking into her eyes, so please respond appropriately when dealing with her.SHIPPING. Renko and Merry are either two very good friends, or two "very good friends". So... understandably, this blog will generally be RenMerry hell. However, I’m not exclusive to it! As long as the build-up and chemistry is there, then I’m game. I am not an exclusive roleplayer, so multishipping is the standard here. For Renko RPers: Biases aside, their relationship does NOT have to be romantic. At the very least, they are very good platonic friends, so I’ll take your lead on what type of relationship you prefer.

Receiving the soul and it’s destined path from God, the guardian angel Lailah places the soul within the womb, and watches over it before it’s ready to be born. Setting a candle beside the babe’s head, she teaches it all it will need to know - where it came from and where it’s going. It’s future, the kind of life it’s going to live, and the rewards and punishments it may receive, depending on the choices it decides to make. Then, when it’s ready to be born, she strikes it’s lip - making it forget all it was taught, and imprinting it with the free will to decide for itself whether or not it will walk the righteous or wicked path in the end.
P E R S O N A L I T Y
Soft-hearted, scatter-brained, and a bit of a ditz, Lailah is a docile and cheerful entity, an optimist who tries to see the best in people. Humans are her Lord’s creation after all, how can she have anything but the best of hopes for them? Especially fond of children, she has a motherly disposition, as it’s been her job to watch over each soul while they’re still in the womb. Perhaps a bit naive, her optimism detrimental at times, and her quirks a tad difficult to deal with... but she means well in the end.An angel through and through, as gentle as she may be, Lailah is at her core courageous and full of valor - she won’t hesitate to speak up for her beliefs, or act upon them, if necessary. She’s no stranger to the horrors of war - as motherly as she may be, and as gentle as her nature is, it’s not the first time she’s been sent to the battlefield, or fought for the sake of another. Though she finds it an odd role to play, the nature of a servant still comes second nature to her.If being summoned is what her Lord has commanded of her, then she’ll do what must be done to see His will through. As long as she believes it’s for her Lord’s decree, as long she believes it’s for the benefit of humanity at hand, as long as it will ultimately bring good to the world which He created... then she isn’t afraid to go through with any order she receives.Well, maybe not all orders.
Her nature as an angel is far stronger than any obedience to her master. She is not human, and does not follow human values, though her morality may align with theirs most often enough. Human she may look, but an angel’s programming is a fickle thing in the end, and it will take priority when it comes up, all of this mess about holy grails and masters and orders be damned. What is an angel but a divine robot?

M Y T H O S
In the Talmud, it is said that Abraham attacked the kings ‘By Night’. This could be and has been interpreted as the phenomena of night - the darkness, the stars above, and all activities which take place during this timeframe, but some early scholars have instead interpreted the concept of night as being the Angel of Night, Lailah. Hence Lailah’s inclusion into Angel mythology.GENDERLESS BUT FEMININE. As an angel, Lailah is technically sexless, and may be referred to as male or female. However, given the feminine attributes and connotations of her role and origin, it’s highly theorized she’s flat-out meant to be a female angel. At the very least, she will be feminine-presenting, and take on a female form.PRINCE. Lailah is an angel with the title of Prince of Night, and has command of the angels who control the stars in the night sky, and can move them into action upon the bidding of her God. Though her primary function is to create life, she can act as a war entity if that is what is commanded of her.RANKING. Lailah’s rank in Angel Hierarchy is unknown, but she could be classified as a Virtue or Dominion if going by the Christian one. She should more appropriately be listed according to a Jewish Hierarchy, though those vary greatly. When in doubt, she may be a Malakhim. On the other hand, quite a bit of pop culture likes to make her a Seraph... No matter what she is, she’s below Gabriel in rank, has a title attributed to her, and has underlings at her command. At the very least, she is mid-ranked.WING NUMBER. Aesthetially, she gains an additional pair through higher tiers of ascention. So she has 2-6 pairs of wings at any given time. Consider the default 4 wings. She typically keeps to a purely human form in order to conceal her true identity, as her wings oust her identity as an angel. These wings look like a starry night sky when present. Her human form is impeccable - as long as her wings and halo are not present, she only appears to be an extremely attractive human person, also as per angel lore.
Q U I R K S
INHUMAN. Lailah is not human in origin and thus does not think like one. It’s dubious whether or not she actually has free will. Her values do not necessarily align with human values, even if she is strictly on the side of humanity. She's more like the deities that attach themselves to servants in mentality. Consider it Angel Programming.
- She may occasionally make references to machines or compare herself to one. She sees no problem with this.
- She will absolutely wander like a lost roomba if not given a task to perform at any point in time.NOT SOCIAL. For one of God’s Messengers, she is incredibly skittish when dealing with or around a multitude of people. This is not due to social awkwardness, but rather because she spends most of her time interacting one-on-one with the soul she’s been appointed to, and doesn’t actually know how to actually converse with others beyond the context of her job, or beyond the context of her nature as an angel.
- She may get easily overwhelmed or exhausted when in more laid-back scenarios.
- She is most comfortable conversing one-on-one, or as long as it’s a rare occurrence, with a second or third soul. More people will wear her down immensely.FAITHFUL. As she is very trusting of any followers of her God, so she can unfortunately be very easily misled or manipulated by members of the Church who have wicked intentions.

Independent Manifestation (Angel) (A). A skill that allows one to manifest in the world without outside help. Strictly speaking, this is not the same as the Beast version of the skill Independent Manifestation. This angel can appear wherever the concept of an angel has arisen.
Divine Core of the Angel (A). A sub-species of the Divinity skill.
Magic Resistance (B). Grants protection against magical effects. Differing from the Resistance effect that merely rejects Magical Energy, this Skill cancels the spells altogether.
(Ruler) God's Resolution (B). Class Skill of the Ruler class which grants them two Command Spells for each Servant that participates in the Holy Grail War.
P E R S O N A L . S K I L L S
ANGELIC FORM (A). A variant of Shapeshifting. Angels typically take on more 'harmless' appearances for the sake of humans - viewing upon an angel’s true form can invoke terror in mortals - causing insanity and fear to those who view it. As such, Lailah prefers to stay in a more comforting (humanoid or animalistic) form for the sake of her master and non-angelic peers. Inflicts Terror/Stun to all on field. Must go through Rank Up to not stun allies.
TREE OF SOULS (B). A variant of True Name Discernment, which functions as normal but only against Servants of the Human Trait. Reduces NP charge by 1 against a human servant.
Angel of Night (B). A guardian angel who dutifully protects and guides those she watches over, cloaking her allies beneath the night skies of her wings, wrapping them in the power of the night. Keeping them safe from harm. Party-wide invul and attack boost.
(Archer) Angel of Conception (B). Lailah strikes the lip of an individual, wiping their slate clean. Cleansing the mind, clears Madness Enhancement momentarily, grants freedom from anything which may be possessing their will. When summoned as an Archer, she's more connected to her reputation as the Angel of Night - thus, her reputation as the Angel of Conception is lessened, making this a lesser version of her noble phantasm as a ruler, Strike The Lip.Erases shortly-gained memories. Removes Debuffs.

(Archer) SODOM AND GOMORRAH. Anti-city noble phantasm. Only accessible when summoned as an Archer. She’s held the skies back long enough - let the stars be set in motion, let divine fire drop from the heavens. Literally a city-destroyer, do not use in populated areas unless you want heavy casualties. Inaccessible in her Ruler form. Debuffed to a less powerful Skill in Ruler form (Buster. Heavy AoE damage, party invul(?))
(Ruler) STRIKE THE LIP. Anti-unit noble phantasm. Only accessible when summoned as a Ruler. Exceeds the limitations of her Angel of Conception skill as an Archer, allowing her access to her proper abilities and letting her commit a full, permanent memory wipe. Debuffed to a less powerful Skill in Archer form (Arts. Party-wide Debuff Resist and Debuff Removal. )
R E L A T I O N S
ABRAHAM. The human which Lailah was tasked to watch over during the battles against the Kings, during which she aided with night skirmishes and protecting his forces. In Fate terms, she would consider him her very first Master, even if it happened before the system was ever created.GABRIEL. Lailah works with the angel Gabriel - Gabriel delivers the soul to be born from the Treasury of Souls, and Lailah is the one who puts it in the womb and watches over it until it is born. So she at least knows Gabriel well enough to work with them on occasion. Given that Michael was also present at the battle of the Kings, it’s likely that she knows them too.LILITH. As a night-related, mothering presence who dictates the creation of new souls, Lailah is the polar opposite of Lilith. Given her protective role in motherhood, there’s a high chance that she’s had to fend off demons and other wicked forces who go after unborn or newborn children, like Lilith or Abyzou. She will be hostile towards demonic or evil entities, as well as dismissive of other gods. She will be either disapproving of or saddened by wicked/fallen angels.
M I S C
CLASSES. Lailah qualifies for two classes - Archer and Ruler.
- Her Archer form is an AoE striker based on her role when supporting Abraham, and serves as a more standard ‘combat angel’ archetype. This is the Lailah which can be summoned under the conditions of a normal grail war.
- The alt Ruler form is more support-based, and based on her mythology as the Angel of Conception, which Lailah herself considers to be the best, or more ‘correct’ class.COMPATIBILITY. She’s most compatible with Masters who are of four qualities: children, people who are in need of a guiding, motherly presence, people with either a pure or unbridled will to do the right thing... or anyone with blind devotion or a zealous nature. This makes her most likely to be summoned by either brave-hearted and good-willed children, or any type of Church member, for better or worse.LOYALTY. While she is not likely to backstab her master, she may disobey orders which go against the moral compass she was created with. This makes her just as unruly and stubborn as any other Archer servant. She is gentle, yes, and very docile. But not meek or insecure. She will question orders she dislikes and back-talk her Master if she deems it necessary. That being said, her moral compass isn’t necessarily the epitome of wisdom or purity, despite her divinity. Angels are just as prone to vices too, and her thought process can be odd. She can and will act irrationally.
Due to her nature, she will put more importance on protecting her Master than actually fighting the war.
Given the general personality issues with most mages, she will be at odds with them. This will likely include her own Master, and she has no qualms about killing them if she deems them unfit or unworthy to wield her abilities.WISH. Her ‘Wish’, if asked, is that all children she brings forth make it safely back into her God’s domain. However, given what she is and the dubious nature of her free will, that’s not likely her actual true wish - just her angel programming overriding her own desires. Getting her to admit her true Wish may be difficult due to that programming. Her actual True Wish is to have a child of her own that either won’t be a Nephilim, viewed as an abomination in her lord’s eyes, or won’t be killed for being born.
Angels marrying or having children is against her Lord’s rules, and she fears the repercussions of disobeying that rule. She is quite a bit jealous of the fallen angels who acted upon the same desires and managed to have their own children, even if those angels were disowned, and even though those children were incredibly violent and wicked.WEAPON? Her weapon is actually the wings around her head, which when activated become a hoovering halo of stars. She falls into the category of ‘unconventional archers’.She attacks through means of falling stars and star-themed magic, which is a larger clue towards the nature of her identity and Noble Phantasm.
She has another weapon, a lantern with the ability of clairvoyance, as per the candling nature of her lore. It is a bit more like a Reality Marble, and only manifests in her Ruler form. While other servants may be able to identify her as a servant, unless her wings or halo are revealed, you cannot tell she is an angel.TRUE FORM. Her true form is NOT humanoid. Her saint graph crafted her a human body, as that body would be the best option to interact with humanity. Her true form is more akin to a starry nebula, which is more apparent with her star motif and wing color.SELF-RESTRICTED NOBLE PHANTASM. She will refuse to use her damaging noble phantasm and will resist most orders to do so, given the sheer range of destruction it causes. There’s nothing she can do about Command Seals, of course, but under normal circumstances, if there are at least 10 lives in that city who do not deserve death, then she is not willing to use her Noble Phantasm there. It doesn’t help that she’s a huge Mana drain, and refusing to use it also helps prevent further burden on her Master.

CONTENT WARNINGS. Beyond general folklore warnings, the Fate series goes into quite a few extremely uncomfortable or questionable territories, ranging from violent scenarios and gore, character death, sexual activities, questionable morality choices... among many, many others. Even I have concerns and criticisms with quite a few of the topics that have come up in this series. But they exist, so I will not overlook or ignore them.I will be doing my best to tag everything and treat each of these sensitive topics with utmost respect and gravity they deserve. You are responsible for your own exposure to these topics - follow at your own risk.NSFW MATERIAL. Given Lailah’s specific mythology having her as a midwife and having a domain which includes sexual interaction in it's portfolio, sexual activities may be mentioned in reference or in passing. However, as an angel, Lailah herself will not be involved in any sexual scenarios on this blog.Long story short, sexual activity is straight-up taboo in angel lore. They aren’t allowed to do that.
This does play into Lailah as a character, given what she is, but the end result is that even if she may occasionally comment on or make a joke about something of that nature, Lailah herself is not keen on participating in such matters.PET PROJECT. Lailah was created for some of my friends, as they were creating a grail war to match their OCs and lacked an Archer for it. So she’s basically an experiment and pet project for a roleplay among friends. This war is still a WIP, so I’ll update her backstory - and her master - once we have things more concrete. We have no plans to roleplay or write up this war - it’s purely a connected backstory for our OCs.
Lailah would be contracted to a young teenager who knew little to nothing of magecraft (an unwanted or unnecessary child of a mage family), searching for her biological parents.
Neither are currently expected to survive the war, with Lailah’s master being murdered by their biological parent (another participant in the war).ANGELS IN MAGECRAFT. As per Typemoon canon, in the World of Magecraft, all angels are nothing more than vessels of power. As Angels are power itself, they do not have personalities or emotions. They are not 'human' or behave as such. AKA: I somehow accidentally wrote Lailah Correctly As A Typemoon Angel, Before Their Lore Was Revealed. As servants, they really are just manifest as a 'craft essence' or something conceptually similar, which literally just makes them programs that funnel divine power into whatever 'servant' or other body is serving as their hardware. The personality you see portrayed by an Angelic servant is a mixture of the original servant or other body they are inhabiting, and the attached vessel of power trying to follow their prime directive. As most if not all of these physical vessels are human, this can have... unintended consequences.NOT FGO, BUT CAN BE. Lailah is created to be in a more standard Fate grail war more-so than a summonable servant in FGO, so she’s written accordingly. However, if put in that position, she would be a 4* story-summon servant as an Archer.I do not have full gameplay stats set for things like skills or hp/atk, outside of general effect ideas.
Her overall gimmicks make her in a team of humans, or against human-trait servants. She typically acts as a buff/debuff granter.SERVANT STATUS. Given that Ruler servants are not summoned under normal circumstances, Lailah will always be an Archer unless otherwise desired. If you DO want to interact with her as a Ruler, consider it her alt or summer variant.

Linette never knew her parents. A child of faces who had long since disappeared, tossed between distant relatives and fleeing from sketchy orphanages, she essentially slipped through the cracks.Living on the streets, she did their best to keep their heads down and survive the hard life of the Razmiran peasant, the lowest caste in a religious nation basically run by a cult of man who claims to be a living god. That's all Linette is, and all she thought she'd ever be - nothing more than a peasant, an indentured servant in all but name, a slave in all but legality. One of the bottom rung, whose lives were deemed only useful for toiling for the wealthy - the Razmiran priesthood - and those that backed them. But she simply couldn't continue to live safely once her Nephilim features started showing - there are no other gods allowed to be worshipped within the boundaries of Razmir, and the living god had never announced claim of descendants. The feathers covering her ears marked her divine heritage, and they would bring her nothing but ill fortune should she remain.Thankfully, not all of the peasantry are in the cult's pocket. The resistance actively fighting against the living god's tyranny were well known to smuggle those who wished to escape the nation, skilled at escaping the clutches of the priesthood trying to catch them. These fighters were just as quick to notice the feathered child, as they were to try and hide her heritage. It wasn't long for them to acting accordingly to ensure the priests couldn't get their claws on her.A stroke of luck, honestly. If the resistance hadn't intervened, it would have only been a matter of time before Linette would have been snatched up and left to the whim of the Razmiran priesthood.Their only chance of survival would be in the rest of the surrounding River Kingdoms, as chaotic and life-threatening as they may be.A gamble which paid off. She's safe from being snatched up by her homeland's evil overlords... but her mindset has a long way to go before it'd be able to fully throw off the shackles which Razmiran's lifestyle had conditioned her into.

Ultimately, Linette is a very sweet, very kind girl. Charmingly childish in nature, to the point she almost seems naive - a noticeable remnant of her Yhohm heritage, which are noticeably youthful and child-like in behavior. Yet don't mistake her naivety for immaturity - she is not a child, and will take offense to being treated as such.Infact, she's slightly short-tempered. This isn't terribly obvious, as she takes care to hide it behind a non-offensive charade... but she will often holding grudges quietly, bottling up resentment until it boils over.... which is quite unfortunate, as despite her tendency to bury her problems until they've grown too large to handle, she's also skittish and timid, quick to flee if anger or conflict is directed straight at her - remnants of latent fears caused by the priesthood which used to control her life.So she has an unfortunate tendency to drop a bombshell out of seemingly nowhere, and then run as if her life depended on it.Yet despite all this, if forced into confrontation, she'll spread her feathers wide and act with bravery. Due to her heritage, her sense of right and wrong is incredibly strong - more often than not the driving force behind her actions.... Warped a little bit perhaps, due to her upbringing - her sense of what is truly evil may not quite match the rest of humanity's perception of it, well aware that a creature with an evil alignment isn't necessarily a bad person.

MAGE. Linette is a sorcerer, meaning she spontaneously and intuitively learns and summons spells, rather than having to figure them out the hard way through pure academic research, like a wizard. This makes her far less flexible than a traditional mage or arcanist, but in return there is something in her bloodline that makes her more prone to... unusual magical inclinations.
MULTI-CASTER. As a phoenix lingers in her blood, she specializes in wind and fire magic. This does not mean she's not capable of figuring out how to cast things other than wind or fire. Linette's actually picked up an entirely different type of spell school - specifically, Linette has grown magically powerful enough that she's even learned how to replicate spells she's seen or learned of, but doesn't actually know herself. These copies are strong enough to cause the actual damage of the actual, original spell, should the illusion not be disbelieved - and a quarter of the damage, should they BE disbelieved. She mostly uses this to try and manifest anything that isn't of a fire element, in case there is something the party is struggling against and they do not have a method of dealing with it. It helps her feel a little less useless when fire magic can't burn whatever is the problem.
WISH GRANTER. As she grows stronger, this ability to cast spells beyond a phoenix's natural inclination has shown to truly be an innate ability to grant wishes. (The more she grows into this power, the closer to godhood she gets...)
SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION. As a phoenix, Linette can engulf herself entirely with fire for a short degree of time. This does not harm her, but will harm anyone standing adjacent to her - or who may be trying to grab her. She doesn't tend to do this often - usually only as a reaction should there be a physical threat nearby. The flames must last upwards of six seconds or longer to cause damage. She is not capable of remaining lit indefinitely. This fire does not have the capability to heal - it only harms.
HEALING FLAMES. Linette's other abilities, beyond her magical prowess as a sorcerer, are influenced by her phoenix bloodline - giving her special mastery over fire. Specifically, she can do a very peculiar trick with her fire magic - she can have it heal damage, rather than cause it. Of course, it only heals for about half the damage it could cause - she's far better at destroying than she is at creating. But over time, it does wonders. Her favorite trick in this regard is forming a little ball of fire, and hugging it to herself, to heal damage in a safe location overtime.
GREATER RESTORATION. If she's truly focused, then she can call on flames within her that are much, much more powerful than the ones she normally relies on - a full-on Restoration, curing all ailments as if they were being affected by the healing power of a phoenix's tears. This can do things like cure fatal conditions and restore the body to peak physical condition, even if they were on the brink of death. But the power is great enough that these renewing flames are something she only has the strength to do once per day. Those who have been under it's powers claim it's like having their physical illnesses burned away, reversed through time.
TEMPERATURE. Linette is warmer to the touch in comparison to a normal human, and cold temperatures are less likely to affect her. She can handle being in winter conditions longer without adequate protection longer than a normal human can, and ice damage is less effective against her. Electricity and acidic elements are also less effective. This is due to her pedigree and being considered a planar being in terms of magic.
BREAK ENCHANTMENT. Under a curse or some other magical inclination, and you don't want to be? She can Break It. All she needs to do is bonk you on the head. This is another aftermath of phoenixes having a magic item obsession - they are naturally inclined to deal with potentially cursed magic items.FLIGHT. Linette can summon a pair of feathery white angel wings (specificall yhohm wings) from her back! She can fly twice as fast as she can run, and she has very good maneuverability with them. They are very fluffy and she actively encourages others to cuddle under them, as if she were a mother hen. They will light on fire as with the rest of her body, should she ignite herself in that manner.RESURRECTION. Unbeknownst to her, the stronger she gets, the closer she gets to igniting the ability to innately resurrect from the dead in a spectacular show of fire, returning back to peak physical condition like a phoenix when it is killed. And once she does, it will be the last breaking point for her, forcing her to realize that she is in fact more monster or magical creature than person. Once she gains this ability, she will be incredibly hard to kill permanently - able to resurrect in such a manner once a day without fail. She will have no control over this ability whatsoever. It will happen, whether she wants it to or not.
CYCLICAL INCARNATION. There is a good chance - though it will be impossible for her to confirm until the time arrives - that once she reaches the end of a Nephilim's natural lifespan, she will incarnate back to a younger form like a true phoenix, to live life again once more. Depending on how phoenix cyclical reincarnation works, should her memories remain intact through such a thing, then she will also not take it very well.
SUPERNATURAL CHARM. Linette is very cute - unnaturally so. As a nephilim, she shares heritage with celestials and devils, and as such her appearance and demeanor naturally intuit others to listen to and cherish her accordingly. Her specific heritage as a phoenix subspecies does however mean that such charm comes off as either a) quiet respect and astonishment, or more commonly b) childishly innocent, much to her chagrin.
M I S C
YHOHM. Linette doesn't actually know what her heritage is, beyond others thinking it may be Phoenix. In truth, that's not wrong, but it's not right either - it's a little bit more complicated than that. Her heritage is actually a subset of Phoenix - Yhohm. A pigeon-like celestial that is said to be created from shards of a true phoenix's soul, each time it resurrects. Thusly, unbeknownst to Linette, she's actually a Yhohm which has gone a little bit awol, resurrecting into a human form rather than forming as a bird.As she grows stronger and more experienced, the more her yhohm nature manifests, overtaking her normal humanity and bit by bit making her mentality more driven by the bird in her blood than the humanity she was born into. A fact which scares her, given that all she desires in life is to be considered a normal person, and to be treated like everyone else. Beyond influencing her personality to become more bird-like, it also makes her appear innately youthful and childish in personality.FEATHERED. Linette has feathers all along her body - most noticeably are the feathers located at her ears, which frame her head like a halo when fanned into a full crest. She also noticeably has summonable white wings.Rarely seen however, since they are underneath her clothing, is a cozy layer of feathers along the back of her neck and cheeks, shoulder blades, and down her back, leading down to tail feathers at the base of her spine. These tail feathers are always hidden under her skirt. All feathers are pure white, and are shaped and powdered like the feathers of a fan-tailed pigeon.YOUTHFUL =/= CHILD. Yes, Linette appears deceptively young thanks to her heritage. No, this does not mean she looks like a child. No, it doesn't mean she acts like a child either. She is mistaken to be younger than she actually is, simply because she is Yhohm.Yhohm have a fairly pure, innocent outlook on life. This gets flagged as childish naivety from more jaded and cynical human perspectives, but this does not make them children. They simply haven't lost their hope and idealism.Linette, while certainly quietly cynical and jaded due to her upbringing and environment, is still a Yhohm, and keeps that core mindset that all Yhohm have. It's second nature to her to hope, wonder, and love, even if it seems downright childish to do so. This is what makes her appear youthful.SO HOW OLD IS SHE? While she doesn't know her birth date or year, she knows at the least she is at least 20 years old due to biological indicators - but given that nephilim like her age slightly slower than humans (but not drastically so), she is likely older than she thinks. Not by much. But by a couple years. If she thinks she's at least 20, then she figures she's probably not older than 22? But she could be wrong.ENTITY OF FIRE. Linette is a little bit of a pyromaniac! As a phoenix, her abilities are intuitive and fire-based. She starts fires, she likes to see fire, she is fire. To burn is to live, to be extinguished is to die. She hates water due to this reason - to her, it feels as if it's smothering her. Due to the stressful nature under which many sorcerers discover their abilities, she's caused her fair share of accidental deaths in Razmiran due to fire-related incidents. She first realized that her fire has the ability to heal after accidentally burning someone she didn't want to burn, prompting the reversal in her powers.LETHAL FORCE. She loathes burning living creatures, and killing in general, but as a River Kingdoms native, she's come to terms with the fact that she may and likely will have to kill as a matter of survival, if she has to."You have what you hold" is a defacto cultural rule of the Kingdoms for a reason, and as such she's not a pacifist, for as naive as she is, she understands the philosophy behind this rule, and acts upon it just as any other resident of the nation would. And in a land where everyone is fighting for the sheer right to live exactly as they wish, then you need to be willing to fight to prove your dedication to that cause.MAGIC COLLECTOR. Also due to Linette's heritage, she has an almost obsessive compulsive desire to collect and hoard magical items, of any make or type. Phoenixes hoard magical items, and because of this it's simply in her blood to find them Neat and want to line her nest and lair with them.Furthermore, Linette intuitively identifies magical items with a mere touch with complete accuracy. She does need to make a more proper check to make sure it's not cursed, but as far as what the item is? What it can do? All she needs to do is brush her fingers and she'll automatically know every single detail like some nerd. Also, when it comes to using said items, she's got remarkable magical ability - even scrolls that replicate high-tier spells, she can cast the majority of them as if they were nothing more than a squeaky chew toy. Her phoenix blood and magic item obsession really did say 'MINE'.

Born into the peasant cast of a nation lead by a cult-like church of a so-called Living God... having to live in hiding because her divine heritage puts a thorn in this Living God's side... got smuggled out of said nation under the cult's nose due to growing feathers because of said heritage.... lived the life of a wandering refugee in the chaotic, untamed lands ruled by all manner of local bandit lords....carelessly (or stupidly) offering her help a particular band of travelers...Who thus placed her as the defacto leader of a growing nation in said bandit country.Yeah, she's not sure how that happened either. But it doesn't change what has happened, nor can she go back on her word. This is her position now, these lands are hers to guard and keep safe. Given her very narrow window of experience with the sorts who lead nations... she's downright terrified of the position she's wound up in.Who's to say she won't lead the nation into creating another cult? Or worse, get used as a pawn by the one she fled?
A B O U T
Winding up as the accidental defacto leader of a city turned growing nation, in a section of the River Kingdoms of repute deemed the Stolen Lands?Whether that's a boon or a bane has yet to remain. She's almost regretting offering to help build the settlement - originally under the impression that it was just to get the town upon it's feet while it's benefactors set things up properly. After all, why shouldn't she want to help her newfound friends? But now that it's become a proper nation and she's unable to step down due to lack of a more capable leader. She's simply too good at what her job is, despite her not wanting the position in the first place. But is putting a refugee who has yet to fully escape her fears and conditioning of the cult she escaped from really a good idea? She has no ruling experience, and the life of a Razmirani peasant is essentially slavery. The priests were very keen on making sure they were mentally conditioned to stay that way....And now that her nephilim features already have the populace looking at her in awe? She's scared. The last thing she wants to do is become another living god...For all of her fuss and adamant refusal about being considered a 'ruler' or 'queen' and rejecting any semblance of a title associated with a position of power and wealth... she is still a naturally good leader, whose innocent charisma often sways others into thinking of her favorably. Her lack of desire for the position hilariously plays into how well-suited she is for the role. But being a good fit for leader while simultaneously refusing to play this back-stabbing game that others leaders play isn't going to be easy. An escapee of Razmiran she may be, but an offshoot of the stubborn, abrasive, and chaotic River Kingdoms it still is. And the kingdom that they're establishing is - you guessed it - in the River Kingdoms. There's a very specific attitude among the people who call those lands home, and Linette is a true native of the area. Despite that sweet demeanor and true benevolent timidity, when it comes to sheer unwillingness to do something she doesn't want to do, she is no different than the rest of them. The River Kingdoms exist because they're fed up with the bullshit which other kingdoms try to put them through. A fine example of the folk that have created the region, if she doesn't want to play the games played by the rest of the world's nobility... she's not going to.She's going to need all the support and guidance she can get to play at the big table with the other nations - and those who are willing to support her are going to learn exactly why the River Kingdoms have been so hard to settle and get along with, example courtesy of the queen they've placed in charge.

Alafare - The scholar of dhamphir heritage, in charge of academic pursuits and scholarly matters. A girl who naturally clicks well with the phoenix running through Linette's blood, thanks to shared interest in treasuring lost knowledge and ending discrimination and prejudice through academic means being major boons that co-exist well with a phoenix's natural behavior. However, though she may be with good intention, she is not without her own faults. As she often refuses to properly confront matters which displease her, instead hoping that they will resolve themselves without her direct interference, her unwillingness to be upfront with her intentions often makes her actions come off as passive-aggressive and judgemental when she is upset. Something which has caused conflict amongst the party in the past, and something which Linette is still trying to figure out how to approach. (Alafare is engaged to Katherine.)Katherine - The fighter and scion from the nearby country of Brevoy, in charge of diplomatic endeavors. A happy go lucky personality, devout to a god of drink and freedom. Smooth of word and quick of tongue, Katherine is quick to settle fights before they get a chance to begin - preferably through methods of peace rather than war. However, her aggressively cheery personality is as much of a mask as any other - and it's one that Katherine guards with the same ferocity as a dragon. Linette knows not everything is as sunshine and rainbows as Katherine wants everyone to believe her to be, and despite her best efforts to peek behind it subtly, has yet to properly see what is hidden underneath. After all, Linette doesn't want to be seen as an enemy - she is no match against Katherine, should the later choose to fight back with blade rather than word. (Katherine is engaged to Alafare.)Lee - The gunslinger, heir to a noble family in the old and proud nation of Taldor. This lanky woman was formerly in charge of the nation's army, and is currently involved with local enforcement. Strict, stuffy, and imposing, the gunslinger has left quite a rift among the party as a whole - to the point her personality clashed considerably with the others. Truth be told, it was a necessary difference, even if her point of view was far from the party's ideal - though flawed and full of it's own national bias, it was still a very grounded, realistic way of looking at the world around them. The devil's advocate, a bitter medicine, if you will. Still, she's very human, and the act of being the villain grates on her heavily - it's not as if she's purposefully antagonistic, nor was it ever her intention to cause harm. She was just never fully aware - or free - from the blinders her nation had set over her eyes, nor aware of how she had been conditioned to view the world around her. Regardless of everything she tried to remedy the situation with her own two hands, nothing she tried worked - and the conflict slowly but surely whittled down her state of mind, feeding upon her insecurities and making her heavily doubt her own self-worth. Something Linette noticed early, and wound up becoming something akin to an impromptu therapist - trying to make sure she didn't slip too far down a hole she couldn't climb back out. Lee is... getting better. Slowly but surely, she's getting better. (This woman is so romantically dense someone could have crawled into her bed naked and she still wouldn't have taken the hint. That has in fact happened.)Mirra - The priest of a god of commerce, a judge who can divinely ensure the fairness of any situation at hand. Mirra is... admittedly someone Linette doesn't know terribly much about. She's fairly average in comparison to the rest of the party - a softer personality in comparison to how sharp the others could be. It's not as if she's hiding behind a mask - rather, it's that Linette can't figure out if she's wearing one most of the time. Everyone wears masks, from per experience. No-one is without one - not even her. And especially not a priest. Priests always wear masks, to hide their true intentions from those they interact with. That was simply how they functioned, they breathed lies as easily as they performed miracles. Truthfully, Mirra is a very sweet girl. Not without her own flaws - she's just as prone to trying to pretend that everything is sunshine and rainbows, refusing to look at the flaws of the world before her - but she's not malicious. But she knows that Linette is uneasy around her. Perhaps not why exactly, but it's clear enough that the girl remains skittish despite all attempts to acclimate Linette to the world beyond Razmiran's borders... so the two have so far kept each other at a respectable arm's length. Friendly, but respectful of Linette's boundaries. (Mirra is interested in the ongoing flows of merchant trade and coin. Not in people.)
F a Q
PATHFINDER 1E Linette originated as a PC who was built for a Pathfinder campaign, meaning her base/default verse uses some of the wacky D&D 3.5 build fun-times, and goes beyond limits that are expected by D&D 5e. IE: her stats go above 20, whether it be naturally or through magic items. Additionally, she was built for and is actively being used in a Kingmaker campaign. Given that she is currently a high level character, she is powerful in comparison to the average adventurer. Which obviously normally means some finicky handling for the sake of balance. But given that she's literally in the ruler position for a kingdom-building campaign, to virtually any muse who encounters her, she is an NPC.However, interaction does not have to occur in the scenario where she's a kingdom leader - I can also run her at her lower-levelled 'just escaped the goddamn cult and now roaming as a lone adventurer looking for her sister' history point as well, if that's preferred. Baby adventurer Linette.AGING. Kingmaker is a game that takes place over multiple in-game years. While she started the game at 20 years old, she's currently around 27 post-game.GIRL NEXT DOOR. She's well-loved among the citizenry simply because she doesn't act like the typical more-important-than-you noble or queen, and is very adamant on being seen as just another person in town that they've deemed as being the best fit to make important decisions regarding the town's wellbeing. The populace dislikes traditional nobility, or anyone attempting to tell them what to do, really. So Linette being one of them and knowing how they think, is a boon in their eyes. As her supporters who helped her found the city come from outside the River Kingdom and from more traditional structures of nobility, this viewpoint vexes them. She often disguises herself and mingles with the townsfolk by herself, pretending to be an ordinary person. Most of the townsfolk she interacts with are probably aware what she's up to, and find it charming.PERMENANCY. Though she's not so good at making her own magic items (she could, if she wanted to, but she likes collecting them more than making them), she is capable of making creatures, places, or objects have a permanent magical effect. She's mainly done it to her own eyesight.... and to her ability to understand languages.EYESIGHT. Due to Permenancy, her eyes now have a bright glow to them, proof of the modification, and she can see three general categories of things unable to be seen under normal circumstances: the aura of lingering magic, anything invisible to the naked eye, and any charms which could be causing a creature to act under something else's influence.LANGUAGE. Linette has permenancied the spell 'Tongues' to herself - meaning she can understand any language being spoken in her vicinity, and speak that language back. However, she can only speak one such language at a time, not all of them. This was due to multiple meetings with creatures that did not speak the common tongue, leaving much of the party in the dark about what was being said. For the most part she doesn't show off this ability, as she doesn't wish to take the spotlight away from the party members more traditionally fluent in linguistics.

TACTICS
Before Combat Linette casts Mage Armor before battle. If she’s expecting to fight invisible enemies, she also casts See Invisibility.
During Combat The sorcerer prefers to heal allies with her fire damage or create openings for them by hindering opponents rather than commit harm against others. Due to most of her offensive spells dealing aoe damage, she tries to avoid catching her allies in the blast radius. When forced to the offensive, the sorcerer is naturally inclined to use spells which deal fire damage, like Fireball. If her opponent is not weak to fire, she’ll rely on her various Shadow spells to get through their defenses. If forced into melee combat, the sorcerer will cast Invisibility Sphere and fly into the air to gain distance. If grappled, she’ll use spontaneous immolation to try and make them let go. If she's truly fearing for her life, she'll use greater shadow enchantment to replicate Antithetical Constraint, Crushing Despair, or Overwhelming Grief to immobilize her opponent.

SPECIAL QUALITIES
Arcane Eyes (Sp) Linette has permanently applied multiple eyesight spells on her person. These effects include detect enchantment (60ft), detect magic (120ft), read magic, and see invisibility.
Arcane Voice (Sp) Linette has permanently applied the Tongues spell permanent to her person. This effect allows her to understand all known spoken languages, and speak all spoken languages, albeit she can only speak one at a time.
Immolation (Su) Linette gains the ability to surround herself in fire as a swift action. This fire burns for a number of rounds per day equal to her character level plus her Charisma bonus. These rounds do not have to be consecutive. Any unarmed attacks she makes while affected by immolation deal an additional 1d6 points of fire damage, and any creature that ends its turn adjacent to her while she's affected by immolation also takes 1d6 points of fire damage.
Rebirth (Su) The full power of a phoenix erupts from within Linette if she perishs. When she dies, she is brought back to life, as true resurrection, after 1 minute. This ability can be used only once every 24 hours, and if she is slain again within this period, your death is permanent.
Restoring Flames (Sp) Linette can cast greater restoration once per day as a spell-like ability.
The Unseen World (Su) Linette gains detect magic and read magic as spells known. At 5th level, the phoenix’s blood drives her to find and save lost knowledge and magical items. As a swift action, she can automatically identify the properties of a non-cursed magic item she holds; she must still identify a cursed item as normal to correctly identify it as cursed. She can use this ability a number of times equal to her Charisma modifier per day.
Vermilion Wings (Su) Linette gains the ability to grow a pair of phoenix wings from your back as a standard action. The wings grant her a fly speed of 60 feet with good maneuverability. She can dismiss the wings as a free action.

Cloak of Resistance +3
Flecks of silver or steel are often sown amid the fabric of these magical cloaks. This garment offers magic protection in the form of a +3 resistance bonus on all saving throws (Fortitude, Reflex, and Will).Robe of Arcane Heritage
These elegant, dark purple robes are usually decorated with gold stitching suggesting a particular sorcerer bloodline, though some might indicate a family tree. When a sorcerer dons a robe of arcane heritage, the stitching pulls itself apart and reweaves to match her particular sorcerer bloodline. The wearer treats her sorcerer level as 4 higher than normal for the purpose of determining what bloodline powers she can use and their effects.Ring of Feather Falling
This ring is crafted with a feather pattern all around its edge. It acts exactly like a feather fall spell, activated immediately if the wearer falls more than 5 feet.Ring of Force Shield
This ring generates a shield-sized (and shield-shaped) wall of force that stays with the ring and can be wielded by the wearer as if it were a heavy shield (+2 AC). This special creation has no armor check penalty or arcane spell failure chance since it is weightless and encumbrance-free. It can be activated and deactivated at will as a free action.Digression Charm
These magical baubles were originally created to aid nobles in slipping away to engage in trysts with fellow party-goers, but the Silver Ravens have seized upon them as an excellent way to baffle foes in public areas without resorting to combat. A discretion charm usually comes in the form of a cuff link, an earring, or another small piece of jewelry. Pressing the face of the charm (a standard action) activates it, after which it remains active for up to 5 minutes.Once it has been activated, the wearer can drop the charm as a free action to render herself invisible, as per vanish. Simultaneously, the dropped charm generates an illusory duplicate of the user in the square, as per programmed image. This image repeats whatever activities the user performed between the time the charm was activated and the time it was dropped. Unlike programmed image, the illusory duplicate of the user can react to external stimuli to a limited degree. It can turn to face those who speak to it and respond by nodding and smiling, but otherwise cannot say anything that it did not record before being dropped. If the charm was dropped less than 1 minute after being activated, anyone interacting with the illusion gains a +5 bonus on the Will save to disbelieve the programmed image effect. This illusory duplicate lasts for 10 minutes, whereas the vanish effect on the user lasts only 5 rounds. Once the illusion effect ends, the discretion charm loses its powers and becomes a worthless, non-magical piece of costume jewelry.
Headband of Alluring Charisma +6
This attractive silver headband is decorated with a number of small red and orange gemstones. The headband grants the wearer an enhancement bonus to Charisma of +6. Treat this as a temporary ability bonus for the first 24 hours the headband is worn.Handy Haversack
A backpack of this sort appears to be well made, well used, and quite ordinary. It has two side pouches, each of which appears large enough to hold about a quart of material. In fact, each is like a bag of holding and can actually hold material of as much as 2 cubic feet in volume or 20 pounds in weight. The large central portion of the pack can contain up to 8 cubic feet or 80 pounds of material. Even when so filled, the backpack always weighs only 5 pounds. While such storage is useful enough, the pack has an even greater power. When the wearer reaches into it for a specific item, that item is always on top. Thus, no digging around and fumbling is ever necessary to find what a haversack contains. Retrieving any specific item from a haversack is a move action, but it does not provoke the attacks of opportunity that retrieving a stored item usually does.Bag of Holding (Type 1)
This appears to be a common cloth sack about 2 feet by 4 feet in size. The bag of holding opens into a nondimensional space: its inside is larger than its outside dimensions. Regardless of what is put into the bag, it weighs a fixed Amount. If a bag of holding is overloaded, or if sharp objects pierce it (from inside or outside), the bag immediately ruptures and is ruined, and all contents are lost forever. If a bag of holding is turned inside out, all of its contents spill out, unharmed, but the bag must be put right before it can be used again. If living creatures are placed within the bag, they can survive for up to 10 minutes, after which time they suffocate. Retrieving a specific item from a bag of holding is a move action, unless the bag contains more than an ordinary backpack would hold, in which case retrieving a specific item is a full-round action. Magic items placed inside the bag do not offer any benefit to the character carrying the bag.If a bag of holding is placed within a portable hole, a rift to the Astral Plane is torn in the space: bag and hole alike are sucked into the void and forever lost. If a portable hole is placed within a bag of holding, it opens a gate to the Astral Plane: the hole, the bag, and any creatures within a 10-foot radius are drawn there, destroying the portable hole and bag of holding in the process.

"The Jealousy Beneath the Earth's Crust"
A B O U T
A Hashihime, a spirit with a wounded heart, Parsee Mizuhashi guards the topmost layer of what used to be Hell. Though the Yamas have shut down her particular chamber of charge, the Hashihime has never once left, still guarding it to this day. However, while she is technically the guardian between Here and There, it is probably more appropriate to call her the very embodiment of jealousy. The Hashihime’s strife is a curious one, the soul of a mortal woman who desired for the power to take revenge against the one who wronged her, a man whom she loved dearly. Power she was granted, but at a cost - her soul would become bound to the ‘bridge’ between life and death, binding it with her regrets, forbidden to move forward in the cycle of life. Pitied and feared, but also respected, the poor woman’s soul was enshrined. However, despite her fearsome reputation in the minds of the ancient populace, she has lost a good deal of her edge in the modern world, which has all but forgotten about the gods and supernatural creatures they once feared. Many distrust the Hashihime’s temper, so her exclusion underground was inevitable. Those who worshiped her pushed her away, and for their mistrust she has pushed them away in turn - spiraling ever further into depression and madness, jealous and envious of those who have lives so much better than hers.Driven mad by her own negativity, she gained the ability to manipulate jealousy itself.Unable to survive off what little faith that comes from a humanity which no longer believes in the gods, she has substituted the emotions of jealousy as a source for her magical power. While she may have been a malevolent and unruly deity to begin with, she is most certainly considered a despised and unruly creature now. Though, despite her lowly position (and her knack for destroying rather than protecting) she is still a good guard. One cannot say she does not do her duty, or even remotely fails at it, albeit she may have become over-zealous.Though a youkai, Parsee retains a human disposition at her core. True to her mistrustful nature, she’s a two-faced woman. Almost normal-seeming, she seems a little bit too cheerful towards strangers if you happen to talk to her directly. However, her smile only masks her true feelings, and in truth she holds little favor or tolerance for others, often resenting them when their backs are turned. She can’t help it, after all. Their lives are so much better than hers, she can’t help but feel jealous. And though an emotion which only proved she once used to be human, jealousy is an ugly demon, gnawing away at your self-consciousness behind closed doors. At least those who have earned her ire get to face her true feelings.Though she keeps her true feelings hidden, she is safe to approach within reason - her demeanor is only natural for her kind. With her abilities to manipulate the emotions, she instigates the jealousy in the hearts of others by approaching them, living off the jealousy of others as they are slowly driven mad by it. There are very few humans who are able to resist the sway of her powers, as most of humanity refuses to come to terms with their own inner demons. Her jealousy does not listen to reason, she cannot be talked out of being jealous. If those she targets have nothing to be jealous of, then she will become jealous over them, and if they happen to be jealous of her, then their jealousy will sustain her. There is no winning against her mindset, her jealousy is ruthless. You either break to her power and become tormented by negative emotions, or she will become the victim and act out on her own jealousy. She is at that sort of level of unreasonableness. However, despite her position, she is not really misfortunate. It only looks that way from an outsiders point of view. So long as there is jealousy, she will have an unlimited source of power, and no-one would threaten her life. She has nothing to fear. The best way to avoid conflict with her is to not provoke her, and to not be provoked by her. A simple greeting should cause no harm if the cards are played right.Jealousy can lead to self-construction or self-destruction, but as most humans cannot admit or accept their own jealousy, most humans exposed to her power become her food. If you are overwhelmed by her power though, there is a cure.Vent it out with alcohol.

Corrupted by her distraught emotions, Parsee is prone to bouts of paranoia and anxiety - often lashing out on a whim. While friendly and personable to those who first approach her, her true self is stubborn, aggressive, anti-social and mistrusting - she will drive away all who approach, their true intent be damned.- Her temper is hair-trigger - it doesn’t take much to set her off.
- Her self-worth is abysmal, thanks to her husband’s betrayal.
- She honestly believes she has no worth as a person. She doesn’t aim to murder everyone she comes across - just those who disrespect her. She is that sort of god. Her go-to methods are strangulation and drowning - you will not find the bodies of her victims unless they wash ashore down river.Parsee is lonely - she misses having people who she can trust. Because of her husband’s treatment of her, she fears intimacy - of any type. She fears that whoever she lets in will treat her exactly how he did - she fears that they may break or take what little she has left to give. It’s absolute misery, but she’s convinced that this is the way it’s supposed to be.Befriending her will not fix anything, nor will it resolve her fears. All you’ll do is create an entirely different set of problems - she will kill you, if she even remotely (irrationally) fears that you’ll abandon her too.She doesn't like liars. To deceive the Hashihime is to sign your own death warrant. By all means, she’s not exactly outspokenly honest - she doesn’t wear her heart on her sleeve, or announce her intentions for all to hear. She has enough social strengths to know when to keep certain things to herself. But she will never outright lie to you.As a bridge guardian, it’s her purpose to protect those who cross her bridge. She doesn’t like humans, oh no - but if they’re respectful and ask nicely, she’ll aid them. Protect them even. But if respect isn’t given, then they’ve brought the consequences on themselves. She is that sort of deity.Of the things she fears, there are two very specific concepts she finds absolutely terrifying. To be loved, and to fall in love yet again. As a Hashihime, her sheer existence is bound to the fact that her husband found her undesirable. To think she could once again be desired well… it’s a thought that would break her. And a broken youkai has no right to exist.
W E A K N E S S
As a being of magic, she is weak to magic! But most importantly, she is weak to faith. She can feed off both faith and fear - she isn’t picky, but her sheer existence depends on whether or not others believe in her myth.Outside of Gensokyo, she doesn’t even show up to the human eye. Her myth may be preserved, but unless people truly believe in it and believe in her existence, she’s no better than a phantom.Sealing charms, talismans, and ofuda are all bad news. If it’s good against the supernatural, then it’ll be good against her. Eastern extermination methods work best - though some western methods can be just as troublesome. She can’t hold her liquor nearly as good as an oni proper can - it’ll dilute and disable her powers, essentially making her vulnerable. If you get afflicted by her jealousy, then drinking alcohol will flush it out of your system. This is more of a mundane cure than a magical cure - you literally rant your problems away. She is not usually a physical fighter, though she can get physical if need be! Most of her bark comes from magical prowess. She favors traps and puzzles, and she can and will be a sucker punch for someone expecting a more straightforward fight. If she has to get in close, then she will be an evasive hard-hitter - striking with her claws and teleporting out of range of a counter-attack, or overpowering in a way where a counter-attack is not easily possible. She’s very fond of aiming for the throat, or drowning them in the river.Parsee cannot go against her nature - it goes against her core as a supernatural being. Her existence is dependent on people believing in her - and her legends are very clear in what she is supposed to do, and how she is supposed to act. Following that template set by her legend is compulsory and cannot be resisted easily. Attempting to do so will land her in an existential crisis, and succeeding may actually put her existence in jeopardy.Being a type of Kijo - a species related to Oni - she shares their weaknesses to fried beans. They will burn to the touch. Ingesting one will give her a nasty case of food poisoning. Other anti-oni repellents like holly are also effective.Parsee highly values touch - it’s an act of affection which she desires yet can’t have. All she wants is to know that she’s appreciated, that she’s worth something to someone. Despite all of her jealous tendencies, a simple pat on the head and a bit of praise is all that she truly desires, and needs.Flattery won’t win her over, though - though she desires to be of worth, the only people she allows to see this side of her are her own superiors. The people who actually matter to her. After all, they decided she was worth keeping around - they give her life, as miserable as it is, some degree of meaning. So she will do her damn best to please them, and as such, they are the only ones allowed to lay a hand on her - and they’ve likely earned that right through sheer patience or trial by fire.Don’t try to be affectionate with her - while it is a weakness of hers, it’s one she also fears, and she will fight tooth and nail against it - there will be loss of life or limb if anyone but her superiors try it.The best way to deal with her is by showing her respect - that’s it. Be polite and curious, and if she gets angry, let her vent out her aggression. Just don’t fall for her emotional sways.
M I S C
Parsee retains her appearance from when she was human. Extremely pretty! She holds a distinct foreign air about her. Though she doesn’t look anything like what the legends say a Hashihime looks like, the fact of the matter is that she retains an appearance more reminiscent of her human life.
Her green eyes will vary in shade and intensity - the more intense her emotions, the more vibrant and bright their hue will get. They will practically glow if her emotions are strong.
Her ears are sensitive to the touch - and she really dislikes them being toyed with. Don’t do it. She will bite you.
Is particularly fond of fruits and nuts from her home country, and doesn’t get to eat them often. Pomegranates, peaches, and pistachios are particularly favored.
Parsee did in fact use to be an extremely sweet person! Back when she was human. Even though she was a sweet girl, she was paranoid and susceptible to severe self-doubt, nor was she above thoughts of revenge.
Curiously, according to Satori’s mind reading, she’s actually quite soft at heart. Who’d have thought? Perhaps some of her old personality still lingers, even now.
According to lore, the Hashihime was said to be in her early 20s. Thus, Parsee is as well. She hasn’t physically aged a day in all these centuries, not since the day she gave her humanity away to the gods.
Her outfit is reminiscent of the clothing types of her country’s time and era, and she has a vast preference for brocade fabric patterns. Her scarf is large enough to double as a head-scarf, though she doesn’t usually follow that custom as much anymore.
She still retains a persian accent, though it’s gotten a lot lighter than it used to be with time.
Despite her technically ‘living’ status, Parsee is in fact a specter. A phantom of sorts. And outside of Gensokyo, that is how she will appear.

Parsee retains the distinct ability to detect, manipulate, and become empowered by jealousy. Jealousy is not one singular emotion, though it does have a very distinct symptom - fear of loss. More often than not, it is masked and hidden by a variety of different emotions, ranging from grief and sadness to anger and irrationality.Envy, while similar to jealousy, is in fact different. Envy is a desire, rather than a fear - Envy feels threatened by what someone else already has, which you do not. Jealousy on the other hand is a fear of losing what you already have to someone else. They can go hand-in-hand, but they are two different situations. Parsee is afflicted with both. Her abilities are designed to reach into the deep, dark corners of one’s mind, and push them into following their more wicked desires, or acting upon irrational fears. They are extremely invasive, and will bit by bit edge someone closer to the point of no return, until they fall into despair.Jealousy is a very poetic emotion, but it’s like a snake hiding under a pretty flower. It’s very, very pretty - but those fangs can kill if they latch in.Parsee can detect all emotions, since jealousy is often masked or blooms in the guise of other emotions. It’s a situation which causes other emotions to rise and bubble. She’s more attuned to noticing negative emotions than she is positive ones - and being near crowds of people can be overwhelming. She can detect jealousy - but not specific desires or thoughts. She can’t know what you’re jealous about, but she’s very good at guessing - and she will try to coax it out of you if she can.
Her powers are a double-edged sword - she is an embodiment of jealousy, they are her emotions as well - and she’s consumed by them. Her victims are brought down to her level - and that level is rock bottom. Her own festering emotions have boiled to the point where she is able to manifest her negativity into a physical form. Not exactly an inner demon, but rather her own wild emotions made manifest. It’s not sentient - it’s Parsee. It’s mind is Parsee’s mind, and it’s actions are driven by Parsee’s desires. Parsee thinks, and it acts accordingly, no different than moving a limb.Though it has no true form, it usually manifests as an invisible, serpentine being - or as Parsee’s own doppelganger. It’s not capable of causing physical damage as the former - though getting it by it will knock one’s emotional state askew. But the later form is perfectly capable of causing physical, grievous harm.Parsee can teleport - both long-range and short-range. A short-range teleport only carries her to places she can visibly see or can accurately gauge the distance between. Long-range can only occur on bridges, and is only good to move between different bridge locations.Being a creature whose existence is bound to the bridge she haunts, Parsee has some degree of manipulation over how her bridge works. Usually this only goes as far as making it not have an exit, looping trespassers back the way they came. But so long as she exists, so will it, and vice versa. She will exist so long as the concept of there being a bridge between life and death exists. Because of this, and her physical location, she’s likely an actual worker of the Hell she guards - though she remained behind simply because she couldn’t be moved.
H I S T O R Y
The Hashihime is a complicated poetical figurehead most prominently seen in Heian-era works - her character archetype compliments and reflects heian-era society. She’s been featured in all sorts of works, from anonymous poetry to being referenced in the Tale of Genji to having a Noh theatre play based on her story. She’s a youkai which goes bump in the night for a very specific purpose, and despite her malevolent nature, has even undergone deification - though of course the tales of her nature as a youkai are much more prominent.
H U M A N
Parsee is a pure-blooded Persian royal from the Sassanid era - the last golden dynasty of the country’s Zoroastrian era. While she was never in line for the throne (a reigning queen was almost never heard of), she did witness the fall of her empire - having fled from it in order to keep her own life. Her true name has been lost to time - most people call her Parsee because that’s simply what she is - a Parsi. A name given to many Zoroastrian-following Persians who fled their home country following it’s fall to invaders.Given her upbringing as a princess, she is well versed in the arts - and was exactly what a wife of her time should have been. It was through no fault of her own that her husband left her - she was the perfect wife. That being said, she’s also skilled in languages, and speaks at least Farsi, Arabic, Chinese, and Japanese. She likely learned other languages as well.Persians lived within a strict hierarchy, and she still retains mindsets from the culture she was born into. Contact with men outside of her family was not allowed within her personal sphere, and because of this, she is not overly comfortable coming into physical contact with them either - purely for cultural reasons, rather than personal ones.Along those same cultural lines, she does view herself as ‘belonging’ or ‘having belonged’ to her husband. Even though she was his inferior, she would also have had certain rights as his primary/first wife - and she still follows these ideals. Her husband is no longer around of course, but even still, she is not comfortable breaking cultural taboos from her home country.
I N H U M A N
Abandoned by her husband for another wife, the Hashihime’s story was at one point quite well known - the neglected wife having waited in vain for him to return for her until finally, distraught with grief and jealousy, the poor thing simply couldn’t take his infidelity anymore and after gaining advice from the gods who took pity on her, disappeared beneath the river’s waves - taking her faithfulness to the grave.Though of course, she didn’t stay dead. In fact, she never truly died - it was her life as a human that had ended. And a new life - one as a Kijo, filled with spiteful jealousy and ire - rose from the waves, haunting the bridge on which she had waited for so long. She had the right motivations, but she took the wrong course of action - though the gods had been the ones to show her how to transform, her transformation came with a curse - her shortcomings and wish for vengeance binding her to the Bridge, unable to return to being human, or to pass onto the next life. After becoming bound to her bridge, she got into quite a few scuffles with those who crossed - whether it be to their own misfortune, or for her own (it took her quite a bit of effort to get that arm back) The townsfolk eventually deified her in order to pacify her spirit - giving them her protection, in exchange for their respect.Parsee has killed a large number of people - her husband, his other wife. Quite a few of their family members. And a wide array of innocent people who simply didn’t show her proper respect. Unlike many others within her era, she was not exorcised or destroyed - Abe no Seimei, though he tried, could only drive her off temporarily. Deification was the method which finally ended her reign of terror.Parsee is the creator of the Ushi no Koko Mairi, a death curse involving nailing a straw doll to a tree on shrine grounds over the course of seven nights. The tale of the Uji Hashihime is marked to have occured in the 800s, and the Uji Bridge she is said to haunt is said to exist since the 600s. Along with the end of the Sassanid empire, this makes the Hashihime roughly 1200-1400 years old - if not even older. In either case, this makes Parsee an ancient, Heian-era youkai.Parsee is a Shinto god formed from the soul of a girl who practiced Zoroastrianism, and lives in a Buddhist Hell. Yeah, it’s as much of a headache as it sounds.
F O L K L O R E
A mythological figure found in theater, folklore, and Heian-era poetry, the Hashihime is a minor location-bound deity from the Shinto religion. A guardian spirit who oversees bridges across water with the help of her unruly and malevolent demeanor. Even though shinto deities in general are considered to be dual-natured, her malevolence was particularly praised as a factor which helped her guard the bridges she was enshrined on.Further research seems to indicate that she’s in a category of kami known as ‘Aragami’, specifically being a type of untamed wild or malevolent kami often found at dangerous crossroads or rivers, and which are often considered to be demons due to the dangerous nature of their location.Mentioned and featured in a wide array of stories, and mentioned and referenced in poetry and literature of her time, she’s been mentioned in some of the earliest written works, and even had a Noh Play specific for her story.Given the development of her mythology and this violent god nature, she is also now seen as a type of Kijo, a female oni, and has been mixed up with Ibaraki-douji’s mythos on occasion, as some of their stories take place on bridges. Though once worshipped as a goddess, because of this development she is also now considered a type of youkai. These two statuses are interchangeable in the culture, as well as in Touhou Project - youkai can be worshipped as gods and a god may revert to being a youkai if they lose faith. Though the bridge-guarding goddess is her original origin, and even though she’s known as a minor divorce deity in more modern times, the story of her youkai history which earned her this position is more well known. This may be in part due to her unruly disposition, as the more malevolent and reckless gods do tend to be seen as oni- the Hashihime included- but her stories are very clear that the youkai and the goddess are one and the same.Beyond this, there are many stories of the Hashihime beyond the Hashihime of Uji - including ones of her counterparts on the mountain roads, of hashihime at other bridge locations, and of the Ushi no Koko Mairi, which originated from her myth.
D I V I N I T Y
The Hashihime is a type of aragami - a raging wild god. An oni-like, malevolent kami that is often encountered at dangerous locations (mountain passes, bridges, crossroads), it is usually blamed for any disappearances or misfortunes which happen in the area.As a Hashihime, Parsee guards the “Bridge”. This bridge is both physical and metaphorical - between the sides of a river as well as the shores between the living and the afterlife - but conceptual sides as well. As long as there’s a separation which can be crossed between (whether it be one-way or two), she guards it as a type of separation deity.Though her most popular separation request is divorce, anything which one needs separation - from the strings of fate to persistent bad luck - she can cut.As an oni, and as a deity, Parsee is capable of shapeshifting - and her folklore is noted for the ability. Though she has little use for the ability in recent years.--Noticeably, Parsee is indicated to be the original Hashi-hime - as the creator of the Ushi no Koko Mairi, she is the one who started the legend of the Hashihime. She is not the Uji Hashihime.

"Silent Moon Light"
A B O U T
A fairy of moonlight who hangs around with a fairy of sunlight, and a fairy of starlight. Together, the three of them explore the boundaries of Gensokyo, steal things they find interesting, and pull pranks on the resident Shrine Maiden.Despite rarely separating from the other two, Luna is known to walk alone during the night, and can disappear from time to time. She has a quiet and somewhat sarcastic demeanor, though her curiosity is as strong as any other fairy. She is also the slowest on the uptake and most gullible of the three. She often gets left behind to take the fall for the consequences of their actions.Extremely cautious and the one most prone to more human-like common sense, she WILL question her actions, or her friend’s actions, and this tendency to question the logic behind fairy-like thinking and hesitate is what actually causes her the most trouble. Despite her failings, she’s the heart of the three, keeping them pulled together like glue.Luna is not one to get into a fight, unless coerced by the other two fairies she hangs around with. She’ll generally run away first and tends to hesitate before she makes any moves. Most of her spell cards and actions are typical shows of force through rains of bright bullets and magical knives, rather than any combat trickery with her powers
Q U I R K S
FAIRY DUST. As a fairy, her wings shed dust. Please don’t try to use this for anything, it’s unstable as heck.
COFFEE. loves coffee beans, weirdly enough.
MOON. loves moon paraphernalia. often goes out alone at night to steal or obtain things she finds interesting, or which she thinks might have come from the moon. This is because she is a moonlight fairy.
STRENGTH. the strongest of the three fairies, more powerful at night when the moon’s out.
SIZE. despite fairies commonly being depicted as horrendously small, such as the length of a forearm, or small enough to fit in the palm of a hand, like other fairies in the Touhou Project universe, Lunachild is the size of a small child. She comes up to the waist of most other characters - maybe about 3'6" or so?
MUTE THE SOUND. she WILL mute the surrounding area’s sound, regardless of whether or not she needs to. This does not always benefit her.
REVIVING. if killed, she will revive the next night that the moon’s light shines. This typically means that she won’t revive if there’s a new moon, but she’ll respawn immediately the night after.
WAX & WANE. Like Sunny, Luna’s abilities strengthen and weaken with the source of her power. The fuller the moon is, the stronger she’ll be. The duller the moon is, the weaker she’ll be. The further into the night, the stronger she’ll be. The further into the day, the weaker she’ll be.
YOUKAI-LIKE. Yukari has noted that her mindset is closer to a youkai than a fairy’s, which is why she behaves somewhat differently than other fairies, and doesn’t operate 100% on fairy logic - often failing in her pranks because of it. It’s reckoned that it’s because she’s a fairy of moonlight, and is thus connected to the moon.
